Great product and excellent, rapid support line service
I don’t often write reviews (no matter how often Amazon suggest it!). But I wanted to express my hard satisfaction with the Trigkey Mini PCs, of which this one was the 3rd I’ve bought. Price is great, delivery usually a day or two. Unlike the bad old PC days, there’s zero bloatware on these devices and bring-up, to use the advertising cliche, is a breeze. This arrived with W11 22H2 and an update to the latest went smoothly. It’s really quiet – the lowest power consumption of any I’ve had (supply voltage has dropped from the old 19V to 12V also). With this one, I had a minor technical question – I wanted the machine to boot back up after a power failure (default setting was no startup) and couldn’t find what I was looking for in the BIOS setup. I emailed their support line, and in an hour I got a detailed tutorial mail showing exactly where to find the power state change modes. Just great service. Highly recommended.

Great computer, zero issues. I use it for Blue Iris survelliance with about a dozen cameras
I use this N100 16GB Ram computer to run my Blue Iris survelliance software with about a dozen cameras. I do not have a keyboard or monitor, I just use remote desktop to log into it with my other similar but more powerful Ryzen R7 mini PC.Blue iris runs the CPU around 80% or more and the PC is still responsive, web browsing is no issue with multiple tabs while BI is running too. The power consumption is really low on this unit, it will pay for its self just in power over the next couple years compared to the old huge desktop PC I was using and was not up to the task with only 8GB of ram.I am very pleased and even bought a second unit for my mother in law to replace her old giant PC.It came with Win11 PRO, set up was fast and simple. This machine as been a great value.

    works perfectly
this has performed perfectly and has been left running 24/7 with no noticeable impact on performance. it does feel really warm which is concerning, but probably no more than others of the same design. there is an internal fan which is silent and it is vented for air inflow and exhaust. amazing little machine.

    Decent Value Rig
I’ve only had this for 2 days, but here’s my take so far:- responsive for general streaming and browsing- SSD runs 1x, so about 800mbps write and read- fan noise is noticeable from 15 feet away, and the unit gets warm- lots of MS bloatware after updates (W11 problem, not Trigkey)- you need to disable the burn-in at startup to improve boot times- no USBC ports, as described- very lightweight- outputs to 4k flawlessly- decent WiFi speeds, slightly slower than my M1 iPad ProOverall, great value for the price. I purchased this with a 3 year warranty just as peace of mind. I will probably add a 2.5 SSD soon since prices are dropping. I’m mainly using it with my TV as a media center and couch web browser. For the same price as an Apple TV, I can do so much more.

Expect replacement parts to be needed, otherwise solid machine
This thing is a tiny bit capable machine for what it is. With an N100 processor it’s decent for light workloads, web browsing, taxes and light office work. Replaceable components include the nvme SSD and ram, and to an extent the wifi card. More on that later. Pretty solid construction, a lot like the b link mini. The device has decent port count including:2x Intel i225v 2.5g Ethernet ports2x HDMI ports3x USB type a ports1x usb-c port1x power port(12v@3a)Inside there is:1x nvme no name ssd, at 1x pcie 3.0 speeds1x ddr5 Corsair 5600(running at 4800) ram stick1x Pcie e key wifi module. However, the antennae are silicones in place1x empty 2.5″ HDD slotThe bad. The sad with that arrived with my unit is defective. Right out of the gate it started blues screening before windows even completed getting sets up. I followed the instructions on the packaging and didn’t connect it to a network, so this wasn’t the issue. Removing it and testing the drive returned it was faulty. The 2.5″ drive slot is hit or miss, since when I tried to use it I found the cable isn’t shielded, and sporadically caused errors and the drive to fail. Ultimately I completed my review and testing of the unit with an skhynix nvme SSD which had no issues. i tested proxmox and Linux, as windows and it’s keys look to be one the defective drive only when received. The good. It’s quiet. It’s small. It’s low power, idling around 6w. Lots in the bios open, even if half of it does nothing. While not obviously named, it can be set to automatically power on in the even of a power failure(tested and confirmed working). Hardware transcoding in jellyfin, with a few VMs and LXC containers resulted in a negligible power increase at 7w.It is set to run up to 25w when needed. I verified this with a kilowatt. While running hard, the fan was a tad noisy, but not annoying. It does get quite warm to the touch after running a while, but still acceptable. I expect it’ll need to have the paste redone, I just didn’t go that farOverall, a decent price compared to other machines, with the benefit of replaceable parts. But I’d expect to make up the savings buying a decent nvme SSD.

It is good for gaming but don’t count on replacing the desktop computer
Hardware performance and support are OK. However, I try to replace my desktop using disk image but no way to start mini using USB recovery drive created by Windows OS. Support says requires thirds party software to create recovery USB drive.Since it is small with heavy use it gets too hot in back so make sure don’t leave the USB disk using USB port in the back because it may damage your USB disk because of heat.I consider it is good toy for game because of acceptable performance.

Surprises:1. Be careful when removing the removable back/bottom cover, there’s a ribbon cable that comes from the back of the mainboard onto a small daughterboard on the back cover! Yes, it’s clearly labeled for a 2.5″ HDD or SSD so you can add SATA storage to this thing assuming you don’t rip the ribbon cable!Pros:1. RAM isn’t soldered, the Alder Lake-N platform is a single-channel platform (bummer from Intel). My model came with an 8 GB DDR5 4800 MT/s SO-DIMM, but presumable that the platform allows at least 16 GiB. Note that there’s only a single SODIMM slot, this is a platform limitation from Intel, so you’ll have to completely replace the stick.2. Quiet – The fan doesn’t seem to spin up unless maybe under 100% load, and is generally quiet.3. Dual Intel 225-V 2.5G. Both NICs are the same and 2.5 Gigabit. Though, whether you would consider the I225-V to be a pro or con is up to you.Cons:1. WiFi – This uses the AX101 chipset. I haven’t completely removed the mainboard to see if it’s an M.2 slot or if it’s integrated into the ALD-N SoC. This WiFi solution as of Linux 6.6.2 is useless (on Ubuntu 22.04 with 6.2 it’s not recognized beyond a generic Intel networking device, in 6.6 I can see SSIDs and wireless networks but connecting fails; some report forcing 11ac works, but not for me). Even then, while it is 802.11ax (Wifi 6) it’s limited to 1×1 (no MIMO; half the speed of what a typical WiFi chipset would do) and 80 MHz max channel width on 5 GHz (not a big deal since 160 is impractical on 5 GHz, and there’s no 6 GHz support). Note that the drivers on Windows seem fine.

This chipset is great for basic usage and comes with a generous amount of RAM and storage for this type of PC. You’re not going to install large games on this so it comes pretty well equipped out of the box.I do have another N100 based PC by another brand and it is significantly quieter than this Trigkey. Not that the Trigkey is loud, but it’s definitely not the quietest mini PC that I’ve used. That’s really my only complaint and it’s more of a nitpick.

Pressing the power button a few times failed to turn the unit on. After the DVM showed 12.2V, the unit powered up. Getting full 380Mbps dl service from router. YouTube works. Fan runs quietly (~20dBa). Fallout4 framerate of 12fps varies from 7 to 19 fps at lowest quality.
