This is the absolute best solution for supporting dual 4K monitors for MacBook Pro 2020-Intel
This is DAY 1, so we will see about longevity. That said, I’ve tried and returned just about every one of the “portabe, fits in your pocket, supports dual monitors” dongle/dock options available on Amazon (at the time of this review). None of them work. At least, not for the Intel-based MacBook Pro 2020. I did NOT want to spend this much money when it seemed there were good options for a little as 1/3 the cost of this. ANYWAY, on to the review:PROS: Works RIGHT out of the box. I plugged in 2 brand new LG 4K monitors @60hz, an very old USB-A external hard drive, external USB-A webcam, and a USB-A Jabra external hands-free speaker/mic. It took me less than 2 minutes to set up (which was just plugging stuff in). I’m connecting my external keyboard and mouse via Bluetooth to the Mac so to not waste ports on those. The unit is SOLID (heavy) and feels quality-built. It also has its own power plug (this could be considered a con, too, I guess). Since it has its own power, my MacBook Pro runs much much cooler than with the other docs I tested that don’t have native power. My MacBook fan used to be running quite a bit with the others as it ran hot/warm as did the docks. So, I feel like this unit puts WAY less stress on the MacBook Pro.CONS: It is heavy! And, the power transformer it comes with is the same size and also heavy. Now, there are many reviews who’d already mentioned that so it was not a surprise. It is NOT the thing you toss in a side pocket of your computer bag and forget about it. Now, the size is definitely still “travel-able.” Like I said, the combo of the unit and transformer easily outweighs my MacBook Pro.Considering the ONLY con I can really find so far is the weight and, arguably, the need for its own power plug, this is hands down the best dock I’ve tested…and will absolutely keep. Plus, I considered this: on the road, I don’t have the possibility of dual monitors anyway. If I’m in a hotel or boardroom, I’m connecting to one external screen and that’s it. So, for the road, I’m keeping at least one of these little VAVA dongles that each give me a single external HDMI port plus extra USB-A & C ports, SD card slot, etc. They’re cheap and do the trick plus don’t need a power plug so I can use them with the MacBook Pro totally mobile. I was using 2 of these devices (one on either side of the MacBook Pro) to do what this Ivanky unit is doing. I will now use the Ivanky on my home/office desk and the VAVA when traveling.I hope this helps those of you wanting to make sure you’re getting the bang for the buck on this unit. I will update this review if I run into any problems so, if you don’t see any updates, you can assume all is still well.4/12: Just a quick positive add: I also love the fact that this dock allows me to restart my MacBook and bring everything back on line without having to open the MacBook and log in again. This was an issue that I ran into with all the other dock options I tested.

Heavy Duty Dock for all your MacBook expansion needs
This dock is a BEAST, built for everything you can plug into it and then some. The dock is well built and solid on the desk even with a dozen devices connected. The power supply is MASSIVE, which I guess comes with the territory when you can push 180W of power to the platform. Definitely a unit that is made to turn your laptop into a fully connected desk unit!Functionality delivers as promised.Charging an iPhone XS from the PD port showed an increase of about 1% in charger per minute. Full power!Charging a 2016 MacBook Pro 13″ is flawless, with the unit showing up as a full 96W power supply.Copying between flash drives on the USB-A ports provided full USB3.0 throughput.Copying to and from the card readers also performed to the spec of every card I had on-hand.Ethernet is gig-speed and performs as you’d expect.HDMI output was rock solid at 60Hz on several monitors. Sadly I don’t have a MacBook that can support both HDMIs full res and refresh rates at once, but having that future-proofing in the dock for my next machine is a plus. The power supply runs a little warm, but not unreasonably so. The dock itself gets warm if you are running an external monitor and other accessories, but again not enough to be a concern. I didn’t have any issues with Bluetooth interference. The only minor annoyance is that the SD-card goes in upside down, while micro-USB cards go in right-side-up. A little confusing the first time (who reads instructions, right?).One curious note — after you unplug the power supply the blue ‘active’ light remains lit for as long as 10 minutes! There must be some massive capacitors inside the pack. All told, this is an amazingly complete dock with all the power and functionality. I see the price has dropped slightly, making it an even better deal. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Impressive Docking Station
There are a lot of products to choose from and I must admit I had some anxiety about choosing a new docking station for my MacBook Pro. Previous docking stations I have owned had left me wanting something better. My first impression was surprise. The unit came in a box and it had a solid weight. Beautiful packaging with attention to product presentation. iVANKY really seems to have paid attention to all of the details I can see.The specs are accurate – so I won’t repeat them. I can be hard to impress but I really like this docking station.1. Very solid construction. Feels very high quality.2. Flexible cable for connecting to the MacBook. Many units don’t have this. The cable is over 12 inches long and allows me to position my my back where I want it WITHOUT dragging Ann of my cables around.3. Rubber pad on the bottom of the docking station holds the docking station easily on the corner of my desk while the computer isn’t attached. Other that don’t have this quickly slide all over the place (or fall off the desk because of the weight of the cables). Love this gripper pad.4. It comes with a heavy, high output power supply. My own MBP power supply is only 61 Watts. This docking station will charge the laptop at 95 Watts while also power external USB devices, charging my watch, iPhone etc. It really helped me clean up my power connections at the desk.5. Quick recognition. The video output worked great from the first connection. My MBP sees my external monitors and quickly connects to this dock each time in around 5 seconds. Other docks have had weird issues and sometimes wouldn’t display video for up to a minute or more.Nothing but love for this dock. *this is a dock for your desk – not for the road. it would be heavy and bulky to drag along in your laptop bag.My setup 2019 MacBook Pro, external 29″ ultra wide 2k display. I am not a video editor or video game player. Just a “normal” computer user.

Careful if you have your MacBook, external monitor and external DSLR webcam running on this hub. The Camera freezes all the time, and makes fluid working not possible.

Quite a handy little dock. I’ve had a few USB/Thunderbolt docks, and by far this is the best of them. With some of the other docks that I have used, the cable that connects to the Macbook has always been a bit touchy, sometimes my monitors would momentarily disengage whenever to accidentally touch the dock or move the Macbook. With this doc, as it connects to two thunderbolt connectors, the connection is very secure and I no longer have issues with the Macbook losing connectivity to the dock. Also, I don’t have to use a third party software to enable dual displays which is an additional bonus

This docking station is allowing me to connect the two external monitors with one cable for my macbook pro M3. It achieves it by using the two usb-c inputs on the left side of the laptop. It was not possible to connect one monitor with USB-C and the other one with HDMI, so I used both HDMI on the docking station and it worked out well. The design is sleek and minimalistic.

Easy plug and play set up. No messy software installation or configuration was needed. Easy to use and designed very well. Buil quality is very good. Overall happy with the product.
