Good tooless setup, works like a champ!
Reading only negative reviews for a lot of these enclosures made me very skeptical about buying one, even this one. But I really needed to know if my m.2 drive died and I see a lot of praise for UGREEN products on youtube and amazon, so I figured why not? I also liked the grey tones and style of the enclosure, it looks cool :PThe outer shell easily slides off with a click and inside is a place to put your drive with a simple rotating thumb ‘brace’ to hold the m.2 drive down. It comes with a thick short USB-C to USB-A cable and a USB-C to USB-C cable, along with a thermal pad and some instructions.I kind of wish the indicator light was on the “push” side of the enclosure because of the way it sits facing away from me when plugged into my USB 3.0 hub. But it was easy enough to see the lights reflection around my desk, not worth knocking a star over that.My m.2 drive showed up in Windows, no problem. I left it plugged in for about 30 minutes. It never got hot at all and was easy to handle (despite was some reviews may say). I no longer need the enclosure at the moment, but it’s good quality and you never know, so I’m keeping it. Would definitely recommend this enclosure to others!

Used this to clone two drives. No complaints so far.
Used it to clone my friends SSD to another fatter SSD. Worked really well and I also used it to clone my SSD on my steam deck and worked really well for that. It is a super sick design that works better than the other NVME to usb adapter I had that I bought from newegg.I would say probably the best part of this is how fast it is. If your pc has a usb c adapter makes this device entirely worth it for speed alone.It’s a little bit expensive for what you get but that is okay it’s not that bad.When you install the SSD into it over and over again I noticed that the device doesn’t stay closed unless you force it. Not the end of the world but something to be aware of when putting a SSD inside of it.By far the easiest SSD adapter to put an NVME in it because it doesn’t require a screw driver and a bolt to hold the SSD down.

Very easy and straight forward, no issues.
This was so easy to use for an idiot even like me. Just plug in the ssd to the box, plug that into your pc, then I just used a free cloning program and within nine minutes I had cloned my hard drive to upgrade it. Worked perfectly with no issues. It comes with a cooling pad for the drive, plus some screws and two usb cables one of them being usb c to c. It was very fast and efficient with no issues or hang ups. I would recommend this for anyoen wanting to clone there drives.

Great Storage Solution with a Minor Flaw in the Heating Department
I recently purchased this external hard drive and have had some time to test it thoroughly. Here are my thoughts:Pros:- Robust Storage Capacity: The drive offers ample space for backups and large files, which is perfect for both personal use and professional applications.- Fast Transfer Speeds: Connectivity and data transfer are seamless and swift, making it a reliable choice for frequent file transfers.- Compact and Portable: Its sleek design makes it easy to carry around, fitting comfortably in a laptop bag or even a pocket.Ease of Use: The setup was straightforward without any complicated procedures, working seamlessly with multiple operating systems.Cons:- Thermal Performance: The drive comes with a thermal pad, which is a nice touch. However, I’ve noticed it doesn’t do a great job in terms of heating. It tends to get quite warm during heavy use, which worries me about long-term performance and durability. The heating issue is especially noticeable when the drive needs to format large amounts of data simultaneously.Overall: Despite the heating issue, this external hard drive is a solid performer in most other aspects. It’s reliable, easy to use, and portable, making it a great choice for anyone in need of extra storage. Just be a bit cautious with prolonged heavy use, and consider additional cooling solutions if you plan to push its limits regularly. I’m giving it four out of five stars due to the thermal pad’s underperformance.

Saved an old laptop’s files!! Clutch.
Had an old laptop that stopped turning on; tried different chargers, replaced the battery, tried known working RAM from another laptop … nothing worked. So I grabbed one of these UGreen SSD readers and transferred all the data/files from the old laptop to my desktop PC! It was very easy, my desktop recognized the SSD reader’s USB connection just like it would recognize a regular thumb drive, and the locking mechanism for the m.2 SSD adjusts to fit all sizes of NMVe/m.2 ssd’s! It comes with a little thermal pad for dissipating heat if used for long periods of time, and is slim enough to fit in your pocket. It’s durable and also comes with a rubber sleeve for extra protection. 10/10, definitely good to have one of these on hand!~ B.Mo ^◡^

Very nice, solid construction
Worked great for the 4tb drive I purchased, the rubber enclosure was also nice to have.I do with it had a better retention system rather than just being able to push it out but it works fine as is.

Fits my tiny ssd,working great in mini PC
I had bought the wrong size SSD and when it came in it was tiny, but I couldn’t return it. I got this to put it in so I could use it. It’s working great. I didn’t have any trouble getting it installed into the adapter and it is working fine without any problems whatsoever. It’s very fast to me. I’m not a gamer, but I do some graphics work and Excel and this is giving me plenty of storage and I don’t ever have to wait if I do a save or a open. I’m very pleased.This is made well and seems sturdy.

Plug and play
The only issue I had with this was the small rubber piece used to replace the restraining screw. It’s used to make this product tooless but I had to use some pliers to turn it.Other than that, this thing worked flawlessly. I had upgraded a PC from 512GB to 1TB and the 512 has just been sitting around. Plugged this in and all the system files were still there. Formatted quickly and I now have a little extra portable storage. Not as small as a USB thumb drive but it’s fine. Comes with all the cables you need. Good value for the money.

Good Product, Well made. Has a rubber cover for protection. Set up was a breeze. Speeds were great. Comes with USB 3 cable and the new connection. The only complaint is the holdown for the card is a little flimsy and hard to install. Other than that everything is good. I always have good luck with this product. I will purchase from them again. Shipping came very fast. Packaging and care was excellent.

Ich nutze das UGREEN-Gehäuse für eine alte NVMe SSD, die ich als externen Speicher verwende – und bin mit der Leistung wirklich zufrieden. Die Datenübertragungen sind sehr schnell, dank USB 3.2 gibt es keine Engpässe. Auch der Einbau der SSD war unkompliziert und ohne Werkzeug möglich.Optisch wirkt das Gehäuse modern und hochwertig, die Kühlleistung ist ausreichend und es wird bei längerem Einsatz nur leicht warm. Besonders praktisch: Es sind sowohl USB-C- als auch USB-A-Kabel im Lieferumfang enthalten.Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Der Schließmechanismus könnte aus meiner Sicht etwas besser durchdacht sein. Das Gehäuse lässt sich relativ leicht wieder öffnen, weil es nur leicht einrastet – es wäre wünschenswert, wenn der Verschluss fester sitzen würde. Eine stabilere Lösung (z. B. mit Schraube oder Clip) hätte hier das Gesamtbild abgerundet.Fazit: Insgesamt ein sehr gutes Gehäuse für unterwegs oder den Schreibtisch – funktional, schnell, kompakt. Mit einem optimierten Verschluss wäre es perfekt.
