Discreet form is great but one of the HDMI ports doesn’t work
This has been a great addition to my home office while I was using only one monitor. However, I just upgraded and got a second monitor and it will not recognize the new device. The screen powers on but displays nothing (while the other monitor works fine). Additionally, when I was trying to use the faulty port it stopped recognizing the USB dongle for both my wireless mouse and wireless keyboard.It’s a very sleek product but seems to be lacking in quality control.Update: more ports have stopped working. Do not purchase this product.

One of my favorite stands
I’ve been looking for a sturdy but simple stand to hold a portable monitor to use for navigation on our boat. The j5create was interesting as it includes a small hub with dual HDMI, two USB 3 and USB-C ports, and a gigabit Ethernet port. This stand is built from strong aluminum with non-skid and padding in the right places. I’ve tried several different stands, and this is one of my favorites. The j5create can hold a laptop or monitor higher than the others that I’ve tried. The padding and non-skid keep things securely in place even while underway on the boat. I use a touchscreen monitor, and the adjustments are stiff enough to confidently use the screen without it moving back or tipping over. I only wish that this model could swivel like another one of my favorites and for a slightly different configuration of the included dock. Still, both of these are minor and don’t detract from this excellent stand.

this is so helpful for my laptop
This stand is easily set up and quick and easy to put away when done. The stand came with a USB C Dual HDMI Display Hub which is very helpful due to my work laptop does not have enough plugs but now I have the option to plug in two monitors with the 2 HDMI plus available and it also comes with other plugs that you may need. I love that I can make my laptop now sit up at eye level and no more lucking down. This seems like something that I will have for many many years due to the durability.

Covers up most of the air intake vents on our laptop so to us it’s not usable
We’ve been big fans of j5create products for many years. We’ve owned their wormhole devices which allow you to connect 2 computers and pass mouse clicks, keyboard presses and even files between them. We’ve also had other devices of theirs so when we needed a new laptop stand and saw this one, we ordered it right away.The listing states “Open Design for Maximum Air-flow and Heat Dissipation.” Unfortunately the stand covers up almost the entirety of both air intake vents which causes the heat to rise in the laptop until it thermal throttles.It includes a docking station which we can still get some use out of so it’s not a total loss and we are sure someone else in our household can use the stand but the poor placement of the openings in the bottom make it unusable for a large number of devices.Double check the air intake / exhaust events on your laptop before ordering this.Because of the functionality of the docking station as well as the construction of the laptop stand we are still giving it a 3-star rating but we only recommend it after you check that it won’t impede the airflow of your device.

What it is: Anodized aluminum Z style adjustable laptop and tablet stand with rubber fit and stand grips, thunderbolt docking station (attaches to base magnetically) with gigabit Ethernet, 2 4k HDMI ports, 2 USB 3A ports, USB-C PD 100w pass through, and USB-C power in. Includes instruction manual.Why I like it: In my music room, desk space is at a premium for my mixer, MIDI keyboard controller, usb interface, and monitors. This stand allows me to lift and adjust my 15.6” laptop to a comfortable height, and the included USB-C docking station improves connectivity and expansion capabilities. It holds position well, doesn’t mar the desktop, and the docking station operates as intended (provided you have a thunderbolt usb c port). The machines and anodized parts look very good, and should hold up to many years of use.

The best laptop stand
This laptop stand is very well built, very sturdy and has some weight to it. Adjusting the stand is not easy, it’s very tight. It probably works well for heavier laptops. It takes two hands and some force to adjust it. Once I got the right angle, I’m not going to move it. The mini dock was the reason I got this more expensive model. I like to have all the cables in one spot on the desk instead of hanging down from all sides of the laptop. I like the magnetic strip on the mini dock, it just sticks to the stand and doesn’t move. Overall, I’m happy with this high-quality laptop stand. It’s worth every penny.

Seems like a good product. Mine was damaged while shipping and didn’t work as the USBC cable fit was loose and worked sometimes and didn’t at other times. I contacted the seller and tried to return it but had to pay $32 shipping.I believe there is a process to go to a website and get their approval but they certainly don’t make returns easy. I had to call Amazon about 6 times and going to have to give them another call in about 20 days to reimburse my shipping fee.For a product that was either defective or damaged during shipping, the process of returning the item is not worth the risk of buying it. I’d stay away from all products this third party seller sells
