Comfortable head+neck UPF hat
The new design with elastic non-adjustable size is a bit tight but otherwise good.

Excellent quality, questionable sizing!
As would be expected from a Columbia product, this sun cap is very well made and of excellent quality. It looks exactly like the product page pictures. The material is lightweight and cool. The cap can fold up pretty small for easy travel. The only complaint I have is the “One Size” doesn’t really fit anyone in our household. I ordered it for my husband and it’s a very tight fit. He suspects that wearing it for an extended time might give him a headache. I tried it on for myself and it is too large. A sudden gust of wind would send it flying. I guess we’ll gift it to other family members until we find someone it does fit!

Runs small, but super lightweight, densely woven fabric
High quality fabric, good craftsmanship, what I would expect from the brand. The only problem I have with this is that it runs a bit small, so it won’t fit my better half. He has a big head circumference, similar to mine (a woman, so I have hair padding my head circumference measurement), and it doesn’t fit either of us. This is going to our equally big headed, three year old son once he gets his first haircut, because it fits him pretty good with some room to grow, and we live in Florida where the sun and UV index is really a lot more brutal than elsewhere in the US. The fabric is much thinner than expected, super lightweight, but is super densely woven so that it doesn’t lose any SPF factor. The fabric is of the quick dry variety which is absolutely necessary in the heat and humidity down here. Definitely recommend for kids and smaller women, don’t recommend for anyone bigger with as small as it runs.

No more sun burned neck!
This Columbia Schooner Bank II Cachalot is very lightweight and comfortable to wear. It really keeps the sun off of my neck when doing yard work. This would be great for hikes or relaxing at the beach. Basically, good for any sunny outdoor activity. I am happy with it.

Child sized, literally
I was so excited for this hat. I wanted to wear it for gardening. It is too small. It literally hurts my head. I admit I have a big head l, but I’m not deformed or anything. There is no adjustment, just some elastic which isn’t enough. There’s no pony tail hole in the back, but even with my hair down it doesn’t fit. My husband’s head is smaller than mine and he said it was too tight. My 11 year old and 5 year old could wear it comfortably but they don’t want to. I can’t review it for sun protection or anything else because I can’t use it. I’m beyond disappointed.

small, expensive
This hat is quite small, and while there is some elastic, it’s not adjustable. I have an average sized woman’s head and I feel like it’s too small for me. It stretches and stays on, but the cap itself is small and sits high up, and the protective piece in the back isn’t very long. I can use it, but I don’t think that any guy would be satisfied with this. It’s also pretty pricey, in my opinion.

Well made sun hat is a little tight on large heads
I do have a pretty big head so I am a challenge for one size fits all. This hat does feel tight but I can wear it but probably not all day until it loosens up a little. The hat is very well made and I like the materials. I’ve worn it in a light mist and the moisture does bead up. I love the sun protection, I am the person who wears long sleeves to be out in the sun so I don’t have to wear a lot of sun screen. The hat does have a green tint that I like but my pictures don’t seem to show it very well.

Too small for most, otherwise well made
Like most others have mentioned, we’ve found that this hat is well made with good materials and careful stitching and design, however the “one size” is a little misleading. This fits youth quite well but the adults in our house find it either too small to fit at all or too tight to be comfortable. The design prohibits the ability to adjust the sizing which makes some sense. I think if this was advertised as a youth fit it would probably be more accurate.
