Fast, best for the money 2TB PCIE4.0x4 game drive at the time I ordered it
For gaming : Installation speed is limited by download speed or transfer speed from the drive your back ups are, and won’t add to FPS. Gave it a 5 anyway since it’s doing what I need it to do as a game drive – which is have reasonably fast PCIE4.0 and enough capacity (in this case, 2TB) for the least amount of money. In January 2024, this was the best value by my reckoning unless it underperformed in unexpected ways, or outright broke, but I can’t test it longer term yet. So far it works as a game drive and photo editing drive. For media editing : Only re-did an HDR photo edit and it’s really fast for that. DRAM cache would be a plus though if you’re copying stuff into the drive but given the pricing for SSDs I decided to skip that for the ~3/4 game drive and ~1/4 temporary photo editing drive and instead of spending another $50 to $70 just for the DRAM cache I decided to just upgrade my DDR5 system RAM. If you edit media professionally you might want to still get DRAM cache.Ease of Install : This has to do with your laptop/motherboard+case than the NVME drive. It was easy on my 2023 TUF A15 (6800h, 3060), but YMMV on another computer.Value for Money : $95 for 2TB, PCIE4.0x4 was a great bargain in January 2024; but only because it isn’t mid-2023 anymore when this and other drives were going for less. Added only as 3/4 game drive, 1/4 media editing drive (didn’t actually partition it) but when I upgrade the included boot drive in my laptop when SSD health drops below 90% I’ll probably get an NVME with DRAM cache depending on how prices are like by then.

    Amazing Budget NVMe Drive
Amazing drive. Boot times are as expected from a NVMe, the read and write speeds are as advertised, easy to install for a regular PC builder and shouldn’t be too difficult for anyone who can follow instructions.Perfect drive for the price.

Fast but only 3.6 terabytes, not 4
It works well and it’s fast. But it’s only 3.6 terabytes. Marketing gimmick but I still feel like I was expecting 4 terabytes and not about 3 and a half.

    Great dependability!
I purchased this hesitantly because of the price. I also purchased an external device to host this drive. It worked the very first time and I’ve had no problems with this device in any setting be on the motherboard or in the external drive. Transfer speeds, meet all expectations and claims And heat dissipation is nominal.

Good Budget Friendly Nvme SSD Solution
I purchased 2 of these for my old UDR3 X58 Desktop PC. I installed them into available PCIe slots via M.2 Nvme PCIe adapters. Since the X58 PCIe is only version 2.0, their read / write speeds are consistently about 1800 mbs, which is still considerably faster than my fastest USB 3.0 speeds and Sata speed of 330mbs.I normally purchase Samsung SSDs but decided to give these a try since the received very good reviews and were half the price as the Samsung counter parts. So far after a month of use, they are stable and function as advertised. Since my PCIe is only version 2.0 these SSDs will never develop heat like they would in PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 and should last a long time.I would recommend these as a good budget friendly alternative to big name brand M.2 Nvme SSDs.

Warranty! They will not honor it! READ before you buy! Not 1 SSD, 5 SSD’s failed
We are a tech firm and have purchased nearly 75 SSD’s from Silicon Power through Amazon. All of a sudden we are having one after the other crashing within a year. I originally contacted support 02/19/25 with a detailed description, serial numbers, receipts on each of the 5 SSD’s only to receive a response a few days later to fill out a form detailing the same information plus added another drive that just failed under CSM2502506. Now, a couple of weeks later I go to check the status of the RMA and my case was deleted with no response. I wrote them again and they issued a new case number CSM2503397and guess what, fill out another form to resubmit. We are returning the batch of SSD’s we just received the other day from Amazon and an email to Amazon management to check into Silicon Power warranty practices along with the Federal Trade Commission and the State of Georgia Consumer Affairs office in the coming days after we compile all the data. We are switching back to Western Digital. SO, if you are looking for a drive, you are better off to spend the extra $15-$20 more and get it from a reputable company that actually honors their warranty such as Western Digital, Crucial, etc. This is the craziest warranty process I’ve ever seen where you case gets deleted because of 1) the company must be in a financial setback; or 2) a lazy employee didn’t want to process the paperwork that WE filled out. We used their software to test them which is a complete joke. It wouldn’t even recognize any of them. Maybe we just got a bad batch of these throughout our term. I did send an email and told them we would post appropriate feedback several days ago with the respsonse to fill out more forms. What does that tell you? Very disorganized.

I normally don’t do reviews. But I needed to do this review it has been bugging me. This drive is reported as 4TB. But when I got it I was shocked the informated size in Windows was reporting 3.69TB. it is vary typical once a drive is formatted the reported space is less. But in this case the size pre format was way less than the quoted size. This is akin to false advertising. If anything this is a 3.5TB drive.

Great speed at 4GB/second real world read/write (I’m actually capped at PCIe 3.0×8 due to this motherboard, as opposed to my other M.2 disks. Time for an upgrade.) I’ll continue to add on to my collection of Silicon Power M.2 disks. They always impress me.
