Perhaps the most feature rich mini PC available for home or small business use
Firstly, you get so much value with this item: mini PC +2-Bay NAS+soft router, easy setup, plug and playThe AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processor delivers impressive performance, allowing for smooth multitasking and speedy performance. The 16GB of RAM is sufficient for everyday use, and the mini PC boots up quickly. One thing to note is that the storage capacity is a bit limited, with only 512GB of SSD storage. However, this can be expanded with an external hard drive or cloud storage solutions. Just unscrewing the screws, you have access to free a RAM slot, the NVMe drive and 2 3.5″” or2.5″ SATA slot,I swapped the 512GB with a 1TB drive and added an extra 16GB of ram to make it a total of 32GB.What truly sets this Mini PC apart is its dual 2.5G LAN ports. This redundancy feature ensures that even if one port encounters an issue, the other one seamlessly takes over, providing uninterrupted network connectivity. This level of reliability is particularly useful for those who rely heavily on a stable internet connection.NAS for mini computers can put 2* 16T 3.5-inch hard drives,This has allowed me to digitize all of my movies and music and make them available in one place for the family.PROS-5500U CUP Strong performanceSetup was easyFast file transfersDual 2.5G LAN portsTwo slots for M.2 NVMe SSDs, Two 3.5″(Support expansion to 2*16T)or 2.5″(Support expansion to 2*1T) drives slotType-C port supports data transfer, 65W charging and video output4K HD triple screen displayExpandableExcellent after-sales guidance, Answering all questions and be responsibleCONS-Slightly heavier than other mini computersI plan to order another one as a file server for my small business. If you are reasonably tech-savvy, all of this stuff is ultimately not wildly complicated

Best option for a home SANS backup device
I admit, I was skeptical about purchasing this device. I ordered it and 2 -10 TB Seagate drives, super easy to install drives and then setup device. Once setup, it works like a charm. Yes, the N100 does max out when transferring TB’s of data on initial transfer of data to drives, but it just kept trucking without a hitch or any issue with overheating. I am pairing this with synchbackfree and Backblaze along with a 10TB USB drive for redundant backup system. For 250 bucks, this is an awesome SANS device. Now, let’s see how it holds up for long term. My last SANS device lasted 8 years.

Excellent device for NAS/Jellyfin
UPDATE 24 May 2024: Still amazing. I now have a total of 6 of these units 1 is a TrueNAS server, 1 is a dedicated Backup Server, and 4 are running in a ProxMox Ceph Storage Cluster. Absolutely amazing value.I got the R1 and set it up with TrueNAS Scale and upgraded it to 32GB of RAM. I installed two Seagate EXOS 16TB HDDs in a Mirrored ZFS setup. So far it’s pretty awesome. If you are new to NAS, most NAS builds do not support WiFi, and do not play nice if bridged over WiFi. Once I figured that out, everything has been smooth. It was easy to setup a Linux share and then setup CRON jobs on other servers to sync to datasets I have running on the R1. Small additional note, when I was struggling with the WiFi bridge issue, I reached out to support and they were very responsive. My issue was software and not hardware related, but they still did their best to guide me in the proper direction. If you are pushing the drives or CPU, you may want to get an additional base with a fan to put it on. It wasn’t overheating, but it was running a bit above the ideal temps for HDD longevity. I added a small usb powered fan and that was enough to keep the temps in the sweet spot. Of note, those temps were while I was transferring over 7TB of data over to the device via rsync, so temps are less likely to be an issue under more “normal” workloads.I am considering getting 1 or 2 more of these. The R1 makes a great light duty/backup device, and I may add an R7 or two to act as mini home-lab servers. I have been using small form factor CPUs with external HDD enclosures, but the small form factor with 2 Hard Drive bays allows me to put everything in a nice neat little package.I think my biggest complaint is that I’m now going to have to upgrade my network to 2.5G so I can take full advantage of it’s capabilities, though it’s perfectly capable at 1g, I want to go fast!
