I’ve been playing golf since I was a kid and I honestly have to say this is the best golf purchase I have ever made. It really does work well. Gives you mostly very accurate data (I compared several shots to the distance I found using a range finder when I hit a physical target). Sometimes the swing speed is off with the irons but it didn’t seem to affect the distance data. It really is easy to use and to know the distance of each shot you hit is very valuable information. The app is easy to set up and gives you a little more info like spin rate. Only used it once so far but am excited to see how this can improve my game. I was on the fence about purchasing it and did my research and I’m really glad I pulled the trigger.

Effective tool for the price
I used the Swing Caddie four times before writing this review. Its appearance and ease of use is great. Uploading the app to my phone was a little bit of a challenge, although I am not sure why. It took three times but once completed worked fine. I have found that when hitting my irons the monitor appears to be accurate. I’m not so convinced with my woods. While most golfers believe they drive the ball further than they actually do, there are times the monitor seems to completely miss the mark. The more I use the monitor the more often it seems to completely miss the shot and registers nothing. Not sure if its user error or a flaw in the device. I follow the instructions provided in setting it up and have made adjustments both in direction and distance from the ball but still there are times the monitor misses the shot. I have found that if you pull the ball, it will not register on the monitor. My biggest issue with the app is that when you download the data from the monitor it does not list your shots in the order you made them. It’s hard to tell exactly what the criteria is for the order it lists your shots with a particular club. My biggest issue with the purchase of the monitor is that three days after I purchased it, I returned to the site where I made the purchase and found the price had dropped 23 dollars. However, for the price, it’s a decent tool and can provide you with a general since of your swing speed, spin rate and distance. If you are looking for data similar to a professional launch monitor, you will probably not be happy with this monitor.

Good range finder for a good price.
Great tool for the range or even on the course. Comparing the called out distances to what the rangefinder said seemed yo be pretty accurate. Was easy to use and worked as advertised.

This was a gift for my husband. He thinks it is the best of its kind. He uses it every day and advocates its value to his golfing buddies.

【追記３】半年間これを使用して、各々のショットの質を評価しながら練習していました。ショットの総数はかれこれ4000ショットほどのデータがたまりました。そこへＡＩの進歩が！！！Geminiが、スプレッドシートの分析を『無料』でやってくれるようになりました。試しに、これで収集したドライバーショットのデータ分析を行いました。CSVファイルに出力し、Geminiに分析してもらいました。（それが添付の頻度分布図です。左の方を含めると、正規分布にならないそうです。笑）標準偏差の算出もできるので、（平均ー標準偏差）～（平均+標準偏差）が、どういう範囲になるのかわかります。つまり、サンプルが多数の中で、（調子のいい日のデータだけではなく、笑）、68％確率でどのようなショットが打てるのかという分析ができるようになりました。ただ、スイング改造中なんです。笑チョロがいっぱいある。笑*****************************************【追記２】私が右打ちで、左打ちと向き合って練習していました。このセンサーは、向かいの左打ちのショットのデータを計測していました。笑なので、ドップラーレーダーが発射した電波が向かい側の打席に飛ばないように、箱を置きました。そうしたら、自分のショットだけを計測するようになりました。笑******************************************【追記】iPhoneとペアリングすると、データが随時同期され、都度ショットのデータを確認できます。androidとペアリングすると、なぜかナイスショットのデータのうち、上位いくつかのデータが消去されます。ドライバーで確か235ヤードのキャリー＆５Ｉで170ヤードのキャリーなんて、珍しいものですから、大喜びしたのですが、練習後データを見ると消えています。ただ、235ヤードのショットですが、目視では225ヤードほどだったと思います。そんなこんなで、くれぐれも絶対値としてはあてになりません。ただ、7月に購入して、半年。3000球打ちました。（これを使えない練習場でも3000球かも？笑）母数の大きな統計が取れているので、クラブ毎の平均飛距離は貴重なデータだと思っています。*************************************そもそも、データを『重視』したいなら、もっと多額の投資がされた練習場の弾道計測器を使うべきだと思います。千葉在住の６０歳です。近くにコースボールを使用し、ボールの落下地点まで見える練習場があります。（まぁ、ボールに多少の傷はありますが・・・。）飛距離の要素が、ボールスピードと打ち出し角とバックスピン量だそうなので、この機器を使い、１スイングごとに上記の３要素について確認したかった。方向や曲がりは目で確認すればいいかなと思っています。そうすれば、もう少しスイングをナイスショットに収束していけるのではないかと。（老化という悲哀を見せつけられてしまうかもしれません。笑）これの前にヘッドスピード計も購入していました。同じショットを２つの機器で測ったヘッドスピードには3～5ｍ/ｓの誤差があります。なので、ヘッドスピードの絶対値を計測するのはムリでしょう。（なので★４つ）飛距離は同じくらいです。ヘッドスピードとボールスピードは小さめに出ると思います。１日の練習の中で１球ごとのショットの差を表示する目安と考えて使うと有用なのかなと思っています。ボールスピードと打ち出し角とバックスピン量には標準値のようなものがあるようなので、１球ごとに質の良いショットにまとめていくよう練習しようと考えています。まぁ、ドップラーレーダー式弾道計測器で飛距離を測定しても、風や気圧や雨まで考えてくれるわけではありません。実際にコースでの飛距離は、その時の状況によるわけだから、正確でなくてもいいのかもと思っています。コースを回るときに必要なのは、次のショットの距離であり、打ち終わったショットがどれだけ飛んだのか？ではないと思います。（カメラ式弾道計測器なら、ショットの結果をトレースするのかな？）息子は５万円の弾道計測器より、ドライバーを買えば？と言われました。キャロウェイのＥＲＣ（千円！：１5年落ち？の中古）を使っています。笑私は、最善のスイングができた時、それに合ったクラブを買いたいと思うのです。（高いクラブは買ったことない。安いクラブはたくさん買った。今考えれば、そのクラブを買った意味がわからない。笑）あくまで趣味なので、どこまでやるのか？もありますが・・・。とりあえず、この機器まではやってみようかと。まぁ、これが第一印象というところです。
