Great performance and lot of space
I got the 20 TB disk and the box got a little beaten up but the disk inside was fine. I tested copying 6TB from my old disk and transfer was fine, normal speed. Also no noise at all, overall I’m very with the purchase

TOSHIBA’s performance HDD’s go hard in the paint!
Probably the fastest non-SSD drive I’ve ever owned. Just finished installing all my games on to it yesterday. So far every game from Black Ops 6 to Sifu to Indiana Jones has loaded up quick AF! No Laggy McTaggert bs. No playing a game on my phone while waiting for desktop to say “press start”. None of that….but it is still early in its life. So we’ll see. It is louder than I expected tho.

    Great drive but no screws
I put this into a USB-C enclosure. I noticed that this drive came with no mounting screws. (Thankfully the enclosure did though.)Seems as fast as you can get for a USB-C hard drive. Can’t wait until NVME SSD’s in the 18 TB range become available / affordable. Until then, this will do.

    quiet
the existing hard drive in my desktop was loud and making noises and wanted a quality hdd that is quiet. I can’t even hear this drive, and “maybe” a very slight when read/write if even that. so far, very happy with the purchase and no more annoying noise from the hdd. the 14 tb is at a good price and not much more than the 12 tb, and I believe the 12 to 16 tb are sealed/helium filled.

    So far, so good
I purchased seven of these to upgrade an old RAID. I replaced the 2TB drives with these 8TB drives to give myself a lot more storage to work with. So far, so good. Let’s hope they last forever.

Drive failure in less than a month, incredibly disappointed.
Paid alot of money for this internal hard drive and in less than a month the drive doesn’t want to mount after using it very little and only just to strore and backup previously captured video and photo files.Bought the data rescue but beware of the third party recovery service it’s not from Toshiba and they say if you request data returned on somethihng other than cloud based they will charge you for the new drive while throwing away the drive that is non working, I’m thinking if they can’t recover the data I can’t even make Seagate send me a replacement drive and have lost over $400.BTW the Seagare data recovery service sold with the Toshiba hard drive is NOT honored as it must be a Seagate Drive and no other brand is covered under this warranty. ONLY Seagate drives can use the Seagate data recovery service.

    Intallation was a breeze
I have only had this drive for a week. So, I cannot comment yet on durability.I bought a new Dell XPS8960 recently. They did not have an option for including a large hard drive. So, I bought this 20 terabyte drive. I installed this drive in about 15 minutes. When I turned my computer on after installing it, it found the drive. It was simple to format. I have installed lots of hard drives over the past 30 years, but this was the easiest. I had a little over 18 terabytes of usable storage space in one partition. Windows now makes it easy to have large partitions. I wanted to be able to store large numbers of photographs on one drive.

Good performance. A little noisy under load.
This drive is great for the price. It’s a perfect gaming drive. It is, however a little noisy sometimes… definitely not a deal killer though. I am very happy with it.

22 TB model. Very noisy clicks when sitting on desktop in container (OWC miniStack STX). Noisy anywhere in entire room. Loud enough to wake most people. No comparison to drives in old computer tower which are quiet (4TB or less). Otherwise, works fine.

Drive failed just 1 day after the return window closed.”Chkdsk was executed in scan mode on a volume snapshot.Checking file system on F:The shadow copy provider had an error. Check the System and Application event logs for more information.A snapshot error occured while scanning this drive. You can try again, but if this problem persists, run an offline scan and fix. Offline scan and fix did not work.Edit: Amazon came through for me and authorized a return and full refund.

The spin up time on these 300 series drives is very slow about 6-7 seconds! Annoying if you want them to sleep which you will as they are are very loud. It’s the same with the N300 nas model as well.I’m bought these to replace some 2013 Toshiba 3tb drives which were quiet with 600ms spin up times..
