Good speaker but ridiculous “notification” sounds.The speaker itself is excellent. It has an amazing tone and base for such a tiny little module. I would give it five stars if that was the only part that I was reviewing.However, the notification sounds on the speaker are annoyingly ridiculous and way too loud!!The voice that says “power on” and “power off”, and the accompanying tones, cannot be adjusted or turned off. Turning the device on is a piercing sound that is unnecessarily loud even when I put my speaker under three pillows to turn it on. There’s nothing like the silence of the night being broken by a voice saying “power on” loud enough for people down the block to hear. Or a shout in the middle of the night telling me to plug my speaker in because the battery is low.I wish there was some way to mute the volume of these announcements. Because they really detract from the efficacy of the speaker as a whole.

Update for this little speakder
After viewing 1st 2 photos of speaker[s] on the site, I thought price was for two [2] speakers, not just one [1]. So I was sent 1 single speaker. The speaker itself works quite well. However, the black raised controls on the black case make it very difficult to see control details. I tried using a silver pen to make controls stand out, but it got worn off very quickly. Also I probably was spoiled by other small speakers I have [and gifted to others] that actually display the speaker’s charge or remaining charge. And, I have no use for a light show incorporated into the speaker – fun, but also distracting and unnecessary. For all my criticisms, the speaker does sound quite good and the connected hanging cord has come in very handy.—–After using this little speaker for a full week: as I wrote before it sounds quite good, looks cool, and I finally learned how to turn off the lights and manage the control buttons. However, it doesn’t hold a charge as long as I thought it would. Doesn’t sound as if I like it, but I do!
