A great combination of romance tropes
He falls first and has loved her for years, rivals to lovers and sports romance… could this be my favorite combination of tropes? Yes, yes… I think it is. This hit all the highes and lows of that I expected. I only wish she would have seen all the nice things he was doing/had done a bit sooner. Overall, the best combination of tropes.

Oh my goodness, this book is one of the best (if not the best) rivals to lovers stories I have read in a while!! The witty banter and sizzling chemistry between Shaw and Sutton were off the charts. How Shaw treated Sutton melted my heart over and over again. I stayed up way too late to finish this book in one sitting. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

I love all the fighting and banter and how they kept trying to deny their feelings, well mostly Sutton. But really I loved that they fought for each other. The found family and loyalty was so sweet and added depth to their relationship that made the romance believable.Can’t wait to read the other friend’s stories!

Being best friends with her twin brother didn’t help either. And he may have helped her brother intimidate her boyfriends during high school. Sutton is starting a job as a physical therapist with NHL team Alabama Rockets – where Shaw is one of the star players.Honestly I could say so much about this book but I’d spoil it for you. Go and read it – it’s filled with funny scenes – a bet about a date she’s going on which Shaw predicts fully. Sweet scenes where he looks after her when she’s ill. Moving moments in the hallway during a charity ball. Swoony moments – dancing, chatting by her car, in the treatment room. I could go on!!The banter is brilliant and it’s fun meeting the other athletes who’ll make up the rest of the series, even when it’s just them playing an online game together. We also get an extra bonus epilogue from Miles whose story is next.Loved it all so much!! Annah is an extremely talented author who knows how to capture emotions well on the page and make you root completely for the characters. And their teams!
