I’ve watched this Blu-ray so many times, and it never gets old! Reliving the Cubs’ historic 2016 World Series win is just as thrilling every time. The quality is fantastic, and the editing captures all the best moments from the games. It’s the perfect keepsake for any Cubs fan.This Blu-ray brings back all the emotions of that incredible season, and I can’t help but sing Go Cubs Go! every time I finish watching it. [This review updated June 23, 2017]As a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, I have also counted the Chicago Cubs as my favorite National League team since the 1960s. I guess it’s because the two teams shared the same championship drought for so long. In the same way that my spirits soared and plummeted with every Red Sox change of fortune over the decades until they won it all in 2004, so did my spirits rise and fall and finally reached a pinnacle last month when the Cubs won their first World Series in 108 years…I have collected each DVD/Blu-ray Collector’s Edition for the years in which the Red Sox have won the World Series – 2004, 2007, and 2013. Today I received my copy of the 2016 World Series Collector’s Edition (CE) on Blu-ray, featuring the Cubs’ dramatic come-from-behind victory over the American League champion Cleveland Indians. Having watched each of the seven World Series games as they were broadcast, I anticipated that the 2016 World Series CE would be spectacular… and it completely met my expectations.As I expected, the 2016 World Series CE is comprised of eight Blu-ray discs – one for each of the seven World Series games, and one containing Game 6 of the National League Championship Series. Just like the 2013 World Series CE, which I own, each game in the 2016 World Series CE appears in gorgeous high definition video and pulse-pounding DTS Master Audio. It is at least as good, if not even better, than what I experienced when watching the original game broadcasts on the Fox Network in October-November.Now that I have my copy of the 2016 World Series CE, I can re-live the drama and excitement of one of the most historically significant World Series of all time. Highly recommended. Oh, yeah, and by the way: #FlyTheW!

Best Christmas Gift I Ever Received! Packed with Features!
If you are a Cub fan and don’t have this disc set, you need to rethink the meaning of life.This collection has 8 discs and contains every inning of every game in the world series. As a bonus, it also has the complete final game of the NLCS between the Cubs and Dodgers (Kyle Hendricks vs Clayton Kershaw).The video is stunning and the audio is 5.1 channels of unsquished sound (DTS Master Sound). There are plenty of extras including trivia, stats and more. But thing feature I wasn’t expecting but discovered after I received the set was ther audio options. Each game has 4 separate audio tracks including: The Fox Sports TV broadcast audio with Joe Buck, The Cubs Radio Network team of Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer, The Indians Radio Network team of Tom Hamilton and Jim Rosenhaus and the Spanish Radio Broadcast audio. I have watched every game multiple times with different audio every time and relive these moments over and over. World Series game 7 is the greatest World Series game of all time, and even the Cleveland Indians have to celebrate the contributions. My wife bought me this set for Christmas (2016) and it’s the best Christmas gift I have ever received!

Waited 41 years…Hey, Hey and Holy Cow!!!
My moniker says it all and I got to turn my frown upside down. And I loved the ending. :DSo the Blu-ray presentation was very nice. Great picture and audio was very clear. This does come with the same presentation on DVD as well which I’ll give away to a Cubs fan I know who still doesn’t have a Blu-ray player. The narration was done by a Cubs fan, Vince Vaughn.I mean it could have been better and it could have been worse, but it did capture the essence of the whole thing for me. The parade sequence needed to be much longer and for the short few minutes, I wouldn’t consider it noteworthy as a feature. Watch it and enjoy it for what it is right now. I’m sure there will be other products in the future that will cover more since there would have been more time to produce. 🙂

A Fiarytale for the Ages
What can be said? The Game 7. There can never be another that will measure up to it. Even my beloved Cubs cannot match the drama that occurred that night.The love hate relationship every true Cubs fan has had over the decades rose to epic heights that night. Never have I been through so many emotions in one evening. And this time, this time it came out good. This time, we were on the side celebrating. Even 6 months later it seems like a dream.This DVD series is a must for every Cubs fan. I especially like the option to listen to the radio broadcast while I watch, so that I don’t have to listen to Joe Buck talk about his love affair with Kershaw (who most likely was golfing somewhere during the Series). Buy it. Treasure it. Love it.

Although the Bluray is Region 1 encoded, it comes with a Digital copy via VHX, which allows downloading in formats up to and including 1080p, which saved my bacon this morning!
