Top Quality and Easy to Use
This is a great product, I have several around the house. Easy to setup and produces great Ellen’s quality music in my home. Easy to connect with in my music apps as well as the Heos app. Always recommend these to my friends.

    Works great with Alexa
Just bought my 2nd one. I am using these to power my whole house speakers. Works great with my echo dots. I don’t use the heos app, 100% voice control with echo. Only thing I don’t like is when you link more than one in a group, you can’t use the group name in Echo. You can play the group by requesting any room in the group but that yields some odd results. So I have “kitchen” and “living room” grouped “downstairs”. If I request either living room or kitchen it plays on both. If I ask echo to skip a song, it asks whether I want to skip on the kitchen or living room. Minor. I am just stoked they integrate as well as they did with voice control. No special catch phrases to activate the audio. I junked my Bose amps and switched to denon due to similar specs but better usability

    What happened to Denon?
I have used Denon amplifiers for many years and have always been impressed with their punchy bass and depth of sound-field for reasonable price. Denon always gave a higher end, almost audiophile, sound for a much smaller stack of money than the luxury guys like B&O, or Martin Logan. I bought this as a move into the modern voice control world. The Alexa integration is fine but a bit tedious due to the Denon’s complicated interface for sound source selection. The Denon app is functional but not very well laid out. I cold forgive a clunky interface if the sound was anywhere near what I know Denon can produce but sadly, the HEOS Amp falls far short. I use a pair of older Polk RT55 speakers that still sound amazing after 20 plus years but somehow sound tinny and flat when using this amp. I did a side by side test (one speaker connected to this and one to my previous Denon amp with a CD player as the source) just to make sure I was not losing my mind and sure enough, the HEOS failed spectacularly. The difference was remarkable in how bad this sounded beside a 10 year old Denon Ceol Piccolo. No depth, weak metallic sounding highs, and flat bass. There were snare drums heard from the old amp that the HEOS did not even bother to send to the speaker. I am really surprised at how awful this sounds coming from Denon.

Great For Denon or Marantz Users
After using a ZVOX Soundbase as a Bluetooth speaker for years in my bedroom, I decided to upgrade the whole system to something I could both use for TV sound output and as part of a broader HEOS whole home (or in my case, small apartment) system. I’ve been using Denon receivers for a couple of decades now and got a HEOS 3 HS 2 speaker for my office several years ago. I was growing weary of the niggling irritations of using Bluetooth streamed from my phone as my only source and took the plunge to create an actual stereo system in my bedroom. I wanted to tap into usefulness of HEOS and this seemed like a good way to go since it meant I could use whatever speakers I wanted.Since I already had HEOS installed, adding this into my system was easy, just select the network and enter the password, or I could have used WPS, but that seemed harder than just entering the password. Once up, I entered a name for the amp, set it up on Alexa and I was good. I also hooked up the optical output of my Roku Select 32″ TV to it. Here is where the reason for a four star rating comes in. Unlike my AVR-X3400H in the living room, the HEOS Amp does not have an HDMI eARC input. No problem, I figured, I’ll just hook up the optical and should be good. However, the HEOS Amp does not have controls to control audio delay to help it sync up audio and video. Most TV’s have an ability to adjust the audio delay, but the very low end Roku brand TV I got is rather limited in the range of the adjustment. The adjustment is done using the Roku app, which automagically adjusts the sync. The only problem is that the adjustment procedure does not work exactly and left me with about a 2 frame delay between the audio and the video. The Roku app says to use the fine tuning control to adjust this, but there is no fine tuning control. That combined with the lack of the ability to set audio delay on the Amp leads to a situation where it is not really possible to get stuff to sync up. This is really on Roku and not Denon, but it does leave me less than happy with the final result.Overall, I recommend this if it fits your use case and if the TV you want to hook up to it has the ability to adjust sync manually. It sounds fine driving my Neumi Silk 4 speakers and the sound is fine. I’m also very happy to be able to use HEOS to stream audio rather than Bluetooth off of my phone. And of course, being able to fill every room in my place with music when I want to rock out and annoy the neighbors, nothing can compare!

    Poorly manufactured and Horrific Support
I’ve owned both the Denon AMP and the HESO 3 speaker for 3 months. Within 2 months the speaker burnt out. Amazon replaced it. 30 days later the amp burnt out The manufacturers help desk has numerous individuals which have a difficult time with the english language. When the product is working, it works fine. Music quality is fine for a home however connecting the amp to wifi was a bit difficult.Simply put, its a hit or miss on this product regarding its quality. Obviously I had a bad experience and I would advise anyone to stay away from this product its made in vietnam which isnt the mecca of quality
