    Worked for Windows 11 laptop
A few years ago, I purchased a gaming laptop that I really like and it suits my needs however, a few months ago, I realized I was running out of storage space so I set out to expand my storage. The solution I wanted needed to be budget friendly to accommodate my space needs to last for Years to come. After much research, I landed upon this PCI express module that, on paper, had the right specs for my needs. I took a chance and made the purchase and I am happy to report that this Storage module works as advertised.Installation was very simple however I have a lot of experience with upgrading systems hardware. If you do not have much experience with performing upgrades like this, don’t be intimidated as it is a relatively simple thing to do the instructions that came with. It were useless because it did not explain how to assemble the module Which comes in many pieces for heat dissipation. The way you would install this module is fairly simple: when you make this purchase, it comes with a metal base “sled”, three pieces of heat sponges that look like sticks of gum, a heat sink and the storage module. The pieces are assembled by starting with the base sled, followed by a thin strip of foam, then the storage module, then another piece of foam, followed by the aluminum heat sink. They squished together and are fastened with four tiny screws, using the supplied screwdriver. (which is a nice touch). Once you have this “Sandwhich”, you apply the final foam piece to the bottom of the sled, and then you proceeded to insert the entire assembly into your available PCI express slot and fascinate down using the supplied faster. Do take note that of the three pieces of foam, one will be thicker than the other two and it is this thicker foam that you set aside for use at the bottom of the sled per the instructions above. In my case, my laptop had a spare PCI express slot, so I was able to install my new storage alongside my existing storage which made for an easy clone of my operating system and data from my old storage to my new storage. If you are installing this for a laptop: take note that the aluminum heat sink may not fit due to its deck height. In my case, I attempted to install the bottom of my laptop case, however it did not fit due to the height created by the heat sink for this new storage module. For these circumstances, I had to. From the sled and heat sync and only use the foam strips. The thicker strip was placed on the bottom of the chip while the other two thinner strips were applied to the top of the Storage chip. This may not seem ideal for cooling however, I noticed that my OEM storage module that came with my laptop had the exact same configuration. I can attest that this chip will work without the large heat sink for tight situations. For the $, this storage module is a bargain and the read/write speeds are phenomenal. When it came time to clone my windows11 image from my old storage to new storage, it took 16m to image 458gb of data. That’s acceptable performance in my eyes.Once installed and configured, windows 11 booted just fine and now I have another 480gb of storage in addition to windows 11 and all of my gaming data. I’m very pleased with my purchase and now kinda wished I had purchased the 2TB module instead since it was also on sale. I’m OK with what I have though and with a little time and effort, you can upgrade your laptop or tower running Windows, Linux, etc with no issues.Great find! Great deal!

    Great product for my PS5
By far the best purchase for my PS5. I bought a couple external hard drives and that solved my problem for being able to download more PS4 games, but I could still only download maybe three PS5 games. I got this yesterday and after a quick YouTube tutorial got it installed in maybe five minutes. Installation was super easy. Once I started my PlayStation I had to format the internal drive and change the installation location. As of right now, I have about 22 games downloaded to my storage and they’re all PS5 games that I can play anytime without having to copy over and I still have a little more over 1.5 TB so I can continue to download more, and it doesn’t interfere with the games or apps that are already on your console storage. Definitely a great purchase

This NVMe drive has a good write speed for an off brand
The real number I’m looking for is write speed. All of the other numbers are mostly fluff read speeds which make an NVMe drive seem better than it really is. Case in point, I purchased a Kingston Kingston NV2 250G M.2 2280 NVMe Internal SSD | PCIe 4.0 Gen 4×4 and since I could never really test the speed other than with Crystal Disk Mark AND I only used the default setting of 1Gig/s test file, I thought I was getting the full speed all along. Since all of my drives were SATA, that was the fastest I could see. That was until I purchased the Fikwot FN960 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe 1.4. Then I had something to transfer to and from. And right away, I noticed there was a problem somewhere, and it was the Kingston drive. After the buffer filled up, the speed dropped to SATA speed. I tested the Kingston with a 32gig test file with Crystal Disk Mark and confirmed the problem.Be sure you to test with a large file when using Crystal Disk Mark if you want to see the real world transfer tests. It takes a lot longer, but it is worth the time. In my case, I think I will leave the Kingston in place for my Boot drive since the read speed is 3Gig/s and the only time I need to write large files to it is when I’m restoring a backup. As far as the Fikwot FN960 2TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe 1.4 drive, I am getting full read and write speeds, approximately 3.5Gig/s, which is excellent considering my PC is a 2015 I7-7700K and PCIe Gen 3X4. I’m sure if this was a newer PC it would have even better results. It does run a bit hot and currently I am running it without a Heatsink, but I’m using this drive mainly for backups and storage, so it will mostly be idle. I have 7 drives and this is the hottest one at 49c deg in idle mode. My other NVMe is running at 28c deg, so that is a bit concerning.Anyway, normally I would highly recommend a brand name like Samsung if you can afford it, but I took a gamble since this is really for storage, so I’m satisfied. I had also just purchased a TEAM 256GB C212 Extreme Speed USB 3.2 Gen2 Flash Drive. My computer only supports USB 3.0 and transferring from the Fikwot NVMe to the Teamgroup USB runs at about 300MB/s, which is 10 TIMES the speed I was getting with my USB 3.0 transferring from an SATA drive.

The Fikwot FN960 4TB NVMe SSD has become a quiet workhorse in my Raspberry Pi 5 system — and not just in name, but in how it has transformed what I thought a Pi could do when paired with the right hardware. From the moment I installed it, the SSD felt like a genuinely well-engineered piece of kit. The matte-black finish, the dense build, and especially the included heatsink all signalled that this wasn’t a cheap throwaway component. I didn’t expect it to perform like some premium drives I’ve used in gaming desktops or servers, but it’s come remarkably close, and often surpassed expectations in areas that really count. When it comes to installation, the drive slotted into my PCIe setup using a reliable breakout board and a dedicated 5V rail for clean power. I didn’t need to tinker too much — the system recognised it immediately, and once formatted and partitioned with proper 4K alignment, it was ready to go. I began pushing it with the kind of jobs most NVMe drives struggle with under budget setups: real-time 4K CCTV buffering, full-disk image backups, large file merges, data indexing, and compressed archive extraction. There were no stalls, no lag spikes, and no temperature warnings. Even after hours of intense file operations, the SSD remained cool, stable, and completely silent. It simply got on with the job, and I quickly forgot it was even there — the ultimate compliment for any storage device.Over time, I’ve used this Fikwot SSD as the core of several essential services. It acts as the main storage for my home Pi-hole logging, with weeks’ worth of DNS and firewall data written and indexed. It’s been tested as a live drive for Jellyfin media streaming, including transcoding temporary files. It’s run test environments for database caching using MariaDB, and supported a local dev server hosting multiple containers, pulling and building images on the fly. I’ve even used it for batch rendering compressed assets through FFMPEG and LAME — and in every single case, it felt like I was using something far beyond a Raspberry Pi.Thermally, I was especially impressed. The included heatsink is no gimmick — it’s solid, fits snugly, and spreads heat evenly. In a closed case with modest airflow, it maintained steady internal temps even under extended multi-hour file operations. I’ve worked with other so-called “heatsink SSDs” before, including branded ones that cost more, and few actually perform this well passively. I didn’t need active cooling to keep things safe, though I did ensure the rest of my system was well-ventilated with my standard setup.Reliability-wise, this SSD has handled hundreds of GBs per week for several months now without showing any signs of fatigue or degradation. No stutters, no failed boots, no lost partitions. I’ve had bad experiences with lesser drives that begin corrupting files under stress or after a few firmware-level hangs — this Fikwot drive has proven rock-solid. Every morning, my logging and uptime stats show it’s been working steadily, and my Pi 5 hasn’t missed a beat.I also tested this SSD externally on a PS5, and it installed without issue, formatted instantly, and handled large game files and updates with ease. If you’re after a drive that can bridge use between your Pi, console, and laptop without worry, this makes a compelling option. Some users might note that it uses SLC caching rather than onboard DRAM, and that’s true, but in real use I never once felt bottlenecked. It consistently handled mixed reads and writes gracefully, even when switching from sequential workloads to rapid-fire random writes. For the kind of hybrid tasks my Pi setup handles — part server, part dev environment, part multimedia tool — the drive has held its own better than many brand-name alternatives I’ve used in professional workstations. The FN960 is also rated for 2800TBW endurance, which, for a Raspberry Pi environment, effectively means you’ll never wear it out. The warranty coverage and support reputation aren’t yet on par with Samsung or Crucial, but based on my personal use, the build quality and stability here are genuinely reassuring. I’d still make backups, of course, but I trust this SSD more than I expected to.In the end, I see this SSD as a smart, understated powerhouse. It doesn’t boast flashy branding or exaggerated speed claims — it just performs, consistently, quietly, and with surprising elegance. It’s a perfect match for anyone running a serious Pi setup with PCIe access who wants the speed and durability of NVMe without overpaying. I’ve since ordered another for cloning and redundancy. For high-end users who don’t want to compromise on capability in their microserver or dev board projects, this one’s worth a serious look.
