Works well and has a high build quality
My Marantz SR5015, purchased January 2021, started dropping the audio randomly in February 2025. No conditions had changed in my home, I checked all my connections and what not, everything was fine. I placed a small box fan next to the receiver and the audio turned back on. So it was an overheating issue. Being out of warranty and not wanting to have a box fan constantly blowing on my receiver, I immediately thought of AC Infinity as I’ve bought many of their products over the years and they’ve always been high quality. I purchased the rear-venting Aircom T8 and have been very happy with it. It’s heavy duty, elegant, well made, and the front curvature aligns perfectly with me Marantz. It’s a little bit deeper than my receiver so it hangs off the back a bit but keeping it flush in front with my receiver still has the fans lined up perfectly with the top vents of the Marantz, plus the bottom pads are still on the receiver. I played around with the Auto and Smart features quite a bit and, after doing testing and looking at research online, went with the Auto feature. The fan speed at 2 seemed to work the best but the noise bothered me slightly. I bumped it down to the lowest speed of 1 and it still is able to drop the temperature adequately. I have it set to turn on at 85 degrees, drop to 81 degrees, alarm at 95 degrees. So far it’s never gone above 85 degrees! In reading reviews, the top-venting model has a lower dB although I wish these fans were just a little quieter. The instructions are just ok, you have to read every Mode setting carefully as they contain settings that affect how the Auto and Smart modes work. My recommendations to AC Infinity is to use quieter fans and update your instructions to be clearer!

    does the job
I bought the Aircom T10 to keep my Onkyo TX-RZ620 AVR cool during extended periods of use, in order to keep it working for the foreseeable future. The unit shipped in excellent packaging, with foam inserts to prevent damage. Straight out of the box, I could tell the T10 was well built and well designed.Installation was simple – position the unit, plug it in, and it begins working. With only 4 buttons on the front panel, programming is quick and easy, allowing you to toggle max fan speed, display brightness, temperature alarm threshold, etc.I initially used Smart Mode, which automatically triggers the fans at the slowest speed setting when the probe (measured) temperature threshold is crossed, and increases fan speed commensurate with subsequent increases in the probe temperature. This mode works very well, but also constantly cycles the fan on and off when the AVR is not taxed. I was assured by AC Infinity that the on/off cycles won’t shorten the lifespan of the T10, which has fans rated for 67,000 hours of use(!). Nevertheless, the thought of the fans coming on and turning off over and over with only a 1-degree temperature differential is a bit…distracting. In any event, I’ve since switched to Auto Mode, which waits until your threshold probe temperature is reached, then runs the fans at an appropriate speed (but only as high as your programmed highest fan setting) until the temperature is decreased by 2 or 4 degrees Fahrenheit, then turns the fans off again. I find this to be a bit less distracting – the fans run slightly faster for longer, but then they’re off again for just as long. With regards to distraction, I will say that the fans are definitely audible at a distance of ~12 feet. Obviously, the lower the fan speed, the lower the fan noise. I set my fans to max out at setting 3, and I find settings 1-2 are lightly audible if your TV/movie/music has a lull (i.e. when there is no sound coming from your speakers). However, if there’s any sound coming from your AVR, you likely won’t detect fan noise unless you try really hard! Finally, my AVR is not one that runs excessively hot (I believe Denon and Marantz are the hotter-running brands). I haven’t pushed my AVR since installing the T10, with a prolonged period of loud (7.2 channel) music, but the Aircom T10 easily keeps my probe temperature under 80 degrees at normal use levels, with a max fan speed of only 2 (out of 6)! This does the job, and does it well.

Third upgrade of cooling fan and best by far!
My set up consists of: a preprocessor, three external amplifiers, a separate CD player, Blu-ray player and an XBox.Heat and radio frequency are killers to sound (degradation of signal) and components. Utilizing shielded cables throughout the entire system is great for protecting against RF but unwanted heat buildup from the amps and processor need serious attention.I began with dual fans that were only 3×5 in size, so I needed several to implement into my system, all with their own A/C style plugs, very inconvenient, noisy and lots of extra wires. Then I upgraded to laptop style coolers, much larger, covering more real estate and less wires but still not as effective as I’d like to dissipate heat from the heatsinks in the amps. Then comes AC Infinity. They offer several different solutions to accommodate any and every system out there.I have three different fans in my set up: the Aircom S7, a 12″ top exhaust fan I use on the amp that exudes the least amount of heat dissipation. Next is the Aircom S9, a 17″ top exhaust fan for my hottest amp and lastly, the Aircom S8, a 17″ rear exhaust fan which adorns my processor.I have an open cabinet and out of the three, the S8 does the overall best job of ejecting the heat from my set up by blowing it straight out the back of the cabinet. The top exhaust units in my system certainly keep my amps cool however I’ve come to appreciate the rear exhaust for my particular application. All three are powered with A/C detachable cords which plug in nicely into my power conditioner.I’ve covered the effectiveness of the fan, as far as distracting lights, there is a power light and a fan speed light. You’ll notice from the pictures that a small piece of electrical tape covers the fan speed light as I leave the power light exposed so I know all is well. The power light is small enough, in my opinion, that is not a distraction.Noise: this fan can be heard from your seating position if you have them on full blast. Once click down from full speed and the sound is quite noticeably more quiet, or should I say, less noticeable 🙂 however still effective.I have absolutely no regrets with these purchases, in fact, I still have one amp left using a laptop cooler waiting for it’s S8 rear exhaust fan.If your system has the least amount of heat buildup, these fans ARE the ticket, the build quality is impressive and they are very attractive for what it is as it blends in perfectly with the gear it’s protecting. These fans are not the cheapest pricewise but not the most expensive either. From my point of view, the value they are protecting gives me peace of mind! One more honorable mention is the care that goes into the packaging for shipping. The unit has fabricated soft foam sleeves that fit over each end, like your high end Blu-ray player or A/V receiver would with their Styrofoam block ends. Even the detachable plug has it’s own foam cover and in it’s own zip lock custom fit bag. The unit is also in a plastic bag, boxed and then double boxed with extra packing paper in between. Even the brochure that accompanies the unit is in it’s own sleeve. All in all, this is a purchase that is impressive from the time it arrives to your door to the the time it does what it’s intended to do.This product receives my HIGHEST recommendation.

Fantastic appliance.I was previously using a USB desk top fan positioned behind my AV equipment to blow air across the top of my pioneer SCLX901 atmos receiver. It was fine for a while. Kept the receiver cooler than without a fan. But the fan wasn’t silent and was distracting. The receiver still got warm if run for a while. So I looked for something purpose built. This cooler is damn good. Sits seemlessly on top of my receiver and blends right in. I run it on auto mode and on the lowest fan-speed setting and the receiver stays cold, even after watching a couple of movies at an enthusiastic volume level, running all 11 channels and 3 subs. The cooler is silent. You don’t even notice when it comes on and off when it needs to.Even if run at higher fan speeds, I don’t think you even notice any noise. To answer an audiophile’s question, yes, the indicator light can be switched off by holding the mode button for 3 seconds, which is a great feature. There is an indicator light to tell you the unit is on, but it’s tiny and not a distraction. This unit has a rear exhaust, so consider this for your application.Definitely a must buy to protect your equipment, especially if you spend a high dollar amount on your stuff.
