I have multiple external hard-drives, some of them are bulky and are meant to keep a backup at home. Some of them are smaller ones which I use to carry my photos and other files around with me while I am traveling or transporting data between home and office. Two of them are small 1TB and 2TB USB3.0 hard-drives. I wanted to buy a case for them.After considering a lot of hard and soft cases from various sellers, I stumbled upon this and thought of giving it a try. And it was a wise decision !!! As I always say, Amazon Basics items are equivalent (if not better) to quality in other comparable items from different manufacturers and yet they are available at almost half the price (and sometimes even lesser than that).I have many of the Amazon Basics items and I am not unhappy with any of them. And this is no exception.A few good things:1. The exterior is pretty hard and you can rest assured that your HDD will be protected even if this case is buried deep down in the luggage.2. Soft interior makes sure that the HDD stays safe even if there is some pressure on it from other items in the luggage.3. This case is made for HDD which do not require an external power because there is not much space inside for any adapter. However, there is a mesh pocket which can be used to store the USB cod safely.4.Even if its hard and durable, the case is pretty light-weight and wont ad much weight to your luggage.5. Although its advertised for Western Digital My Passport but it can be used to store other USB powered HDDs which are up to 5 inches in dimension. I have one of these for my Seagate 1 TB HDD.6. It also has an elastic band to hold the HDD securely in the case while in use.7. The zipper is of very good quality and will not fail on you anytime soon.Cons:The only disadvantage I can think of this case is that there is none. If I have to count one, I would say it would have been better had they made a small zipper pocket inside the case (which would be of great use to photographers like me to also store their memory cards in it while on a trip.All in all, this is an excellent case at excellent price. AMAZONBASICS DOES IT AGAIN !!!!!

Ottima custodia. Prima volta che compro un prodotto della linea Amazon Basics. Credo che, quando si tratterà di comprare altre custodie, porta cuffie, porta cd, porta lettore cd/dvd (se esiste) darò sicuramente un’occhiata ai prodotti di questa linea e ne valuterò l’acquisto.Ora veniamo al prodotto specifico in questione: ho preso la custodia modello “Per Western Digital My Passport Essential” perché, leggendo le altre recensioni, avevo letto che andava bene anche per il Passport Ultra da 2 TB (e magari anche altri dischi WD da 2 TB) che, come i possessori sanno, è un po’ più spesso e alto rispetto ai modelli da 500 Gb o da 1TB (credo). Confermo quindi che questa custodia va BENISSIMO anche per il Passport ULTRA da 2 TB e che la custodia si chiude perfettamente. L’elastico è bello alto e robusto, tiene il disco ben fermo. Essendo che la custodia è fatta su misura per i dischi WD (che mi pare siano tutti un pò più spessi e larghi rispetto ai dischi delle altre marche, ma sicuramente più corti) il disco, oltre a essere già tenuto ben fermo dall'”elasticone”, non avrebbe comunque molto spazio per muoversi, come si può vedere dalle tante foto postate relative a questo prodotto (oltre alle mie). Questa ovviamente è una cosa buona, perché avere una custodia magari anche buona ma troppo grande per il vostro disco potrebbe far sì che il disco si sganci dall’elastico e/o vada a spasso dentro la custodia stessa, sbattendo a destra e sinistra, in alto e in basso, cosa non proprio ottimale. Con questa custodia penso proprio che questa cosa Non possa accadere. Altro: a sinistra c’è il taschino per il cavo. Nessun problema a inserire il cavo originale WD e a chiudere la custodia. Si chiude perfettamente, basta avere cura di posizionare il cavetto nel modo giusto (connettori “piatti”) così che, se proprio siete pignoli come me, non rischiate di graffiare il case esterno del disco con i connettori usb. Che dire, per concludere? Se avete un disco esterno Western Digital (da 2,5″ ovviamente) comprate tranquillamente questa custodia: non credo che ne esista una migliore a un prezzo così basso. E al di là del prezzo credo proprio che non esista una custodia migliore di questa per dischi esterni Wester Digital da 2,5 “.Spero di esser stato utile ad altri acquirenti. Bye !
