Highly Recommeneded
I love this keyboard. Highly recommended for the iPad Pro and is a great compliment to it. I’m actually typing on it right now!!The keys feel really nice and the cover works great. Takes a short amount of time to get used to typing on it (from a regular keyboard), but after a short time your hand gets use to it. I decided to buy it after learning that it doesn’t need or use Bluetooth. It connects directly to the iPad and is also powered by the iPad. That right there was the deal maker for me.I’ve read online that if you buy the after market keyboards you have to use them via bluetooth. That sucks because the Apple Pencil needs Bluetooth, so I don’t think you can use them both at the same time (which is something I read online). I didn’t want to risk it and just bought this keyboard, versus the after market ones (but again because I have the iPad Pro and use the Apple Pencil).All in all I highly, highly recommended this keyboard cover.

A must-have for your iPad Pro
Typing on this keyboard right now! Turns the iPad into a full featured computer! Using it as a stand is also nice. Also, I like that I can place the iPad down on the side with this keyboard on it, when it’s folded up and acting as a cover, and protect the investment in my iPad Pro! I actually think the typing and key return is wonderful. I can touch-type on it just as fast as my normal keyboards! Some apps appear not to recognize the keyboard as well as some others, but the majority of apps work great with it!

Failed connection. Worked for a while, but now iPad does not recognize the keyboard.
Surprised by this product. Expected to buy an “apple accessory” for an “apple ipad”, to increase chance of it working for years to come. So, yes surprised when it failed. It does not work consistently. Error message appears, device is not recognized. A small connect/disconnect sound occurs on regular basis, so something with the connection has failed. Wish I had purchased something else … bummer.

May Be a Better Experience with the iPad Pro 9.7 than the 12.9
I really wanted to love it, but a few features didn’t quite work for me. The Smart Cover for non-iPad Pros seems to work much better because the light weight kept it snuggly fit with the device. However, the added weight of the keyboard to the iPad Pro Smart Cover (12.9) made it easier to snap off the iPad. It never kept in place as much as I would’ve like it to. The origami folding, however innovative, just made setting up the iPad/keyboard that much more difficult. Add the previous issue mentioned above of the added weight of the cover and the fact that it falls off easily…well, you get the picture. The keyboard itself is awesome. Too bad this combo doesn’t work well for the iPad Pro 12.9. Perhaps the iPad Pro/Smart Keyboard combination experience is much better on the smaller iPad Pro 9.7.

Remarkably reliable, types well, very thin and light.
Thin and well-designed keyboard that types remarkably well. My only complaint is that it provides only one angle of view and is not particularly stable when placed on my lap. I end up having to use the iPad Pro on a flat surface or my MacBook Pro (on all things) when I am sitting or lying down. The keyboard occasionally, for reasons that are not clear, doesn’t activate and I have to reconnect the keyboard. However, other than that, the keyboard is remarkably reliable and does not need to be charged. When the keyboard is used as the iPad Pro cover, it effectively shuts it off. The keyboard is so thin that it is not very different from just a regular Apple magnetic screen cover. The typing feel is excellent. The keyboard does not have extra function keys but it has all the numbers and all the major command, option, and control keys work the way they do with Bluetooth keyboards that I have had, including the Apple’s bluetooth and Logitech keyboards. I am quite pleased with it but think it could be improved by eliminating one fold and adding a fold and another magnetic slot in a different location so that the iPad Pro would be more stable on my lap and offer more than one viewing angle.

Disappointing & Overpriced
It’s a lovely keyboard and cover, nice design, but overpriced for what it is and I hated it! First, it only covers the front of the iPad when closed and leaves the back completely exposed. You need to buy a separate cover for that and the back is an area I wanted to protect. Like the iPhone, the iPad is slippery and I also wanted a cover with more grip. The magnets connect well and the pairing is seamless but I wouldn’t trust handling the iPad with just a magnetic connector. The keyboard, while highly responsive and quiet, lacks a trackpad, so I still had to reach for the screen to place the cursor and perform other functions. And as far as the stand goes, it felt wobbly and not all that supportive for a device as large as the 12.9″ iPad Pro. I expected more from a product made by Apple specifically for the iPad but for me, it just did not deliver. I’d rather type directly on the iPad, it’s large enough so that the onscreen keyboard doesn’t really obscure a lot of the display. Bye, bye, not-so-Smart Keyboard!

Fantastic product for the iPad Pro!!!
I love this keyboard, my one complaint about my iPad Air was that I HATED typing on the digital keyboard and the smart keyboard means I’ll never have to do that again! It is sturdy enough to type on my lap, is strong enough as a stand that I don’t worry when viewing videos, and never needs a charge. The wake/sleep function works perfectly too. I don’t use my iPad for demanding tasks (mostly media consumption, web surfing, and some apps) so for me this keyboard makes it all the laptop I need.

absolutely LOVE my new apple iPad and keyboard. I especially love that it’s magnetic and so easy to use. One does have to get used to the orgami like folding of the stand but within the fist three of four times I did it, it became second nature. I found this actually had NO damage even though it said there was some. What a great deal!

Shipped to me was an Apple keyboard compatible only with the 3rd generation iPad Pro, MU8H2LL/A.What I needed and ordered, was the MJYR2LL/A. The images and reviews on the order site all indicated that this was the correct keyboard to order for my old 1st gen iPad Pro. The images attached show that the size is not a match. The technology is not a match. The product was new in a box and the box clearly showed that it would not be compatible, but the site had put their own sticker on the wrapping with a different model number on it – in fact the one that I had wanted. These older model keyboards are not easy to find. It was returned for refund.

I had to replace the smart keyboard for my 1st generation iPad Pro (Model A1584) and this keyboard was the proper match. It arrived quickly and is performing exactly as required. I have only had it for a couple of days so I’m withholding a higher rating in case it fails quickly – though there is no sign of that happening. I am hoping it lasts for a few years, like my last smart keyboard. It did sting a little to pay so much for a replacement keyboard but I am very happy to have my iPad Pro functionality restored with this purchase.
