    Very comfy and safe!
Love these boots! I looked for quite a while for boots, pouring over reviews and whether or not I should get trusty name brand shoes. I’m so glad I settled on these! I normally wear an 8.5 shoes. I probably could getaway with 8 with these. I also got wide width and they are so comfy! Never once thought about my feet during the hike, which is how it should be. Went on a muddy, wet hike and these stayed dry and had a good grip. Also loved having the ankle support as I climbed over slippery rocks and branches. Very sturdy and rugged boot!

Comfortable, come in wide size, and keeps my feet dry in most wet PNW weather.

    Amazing Boots
I purchased these boots because I wanted hearty, all-around boots for camping and hiking in Wisconsin, and I had enjoyed Ariat riding boots many years ago when I had a horse. These boots exceed my expectations with versatility at every turn. They’ve stood in as snow boots, kept my feet dry and warm while cold-weather camping, and protected my feet while I mowed the lawn. When my family began planning a trip to Iceland to hike mountains, volcanoes, and waterfalls, I thought about buying dedicated hiking boots, but I didn’t want to spend money when I already had these. I brought two other kinds of footwear to Iceland, but only wore these. I had no issues with traction, my feet stayed dry at all the waterfalls, and they were warm when paired with merino wool socks. Despite being used heavily, they’re in great shape, and because they’re so durable I know they’ll last me for many years more. The laces may need to be replaced, but I’m happy to do that.

    Great riding boots
I love these boots they are comfortable right out of the box. This is my second pair. First pair lasted about 8 years and just now started to leak.

    Quality, comfortable boots
A proper hiking boot: sturdy leather top leather, good ankle support and solid soles. Unlike most hiking boots today that are nothing more than overpriced high top sneakers. Im training for the Camino de Santiego and needed sturdy boots. I have worn Ariat riding boots for decades, so I felt comfortable ordering as the size ran true and the quality has always been top notch

    Disappointed
This boot is comfortable from day one. No break in time required. The verdict on how long it will last is still out. Only time can tell that – Well, less than 4 month into wearing this boot, the seams are opening up already. For that price I expect a better quality!

    2.5 stars. Sizing is off
As a life-long Ariat boot wearer, from barn boots for chores to tall boots for the show arena, I am surprised and disappointed in the fit of these.I normally wear an 8 or 8.5 wide width in athletic shoes. I can sometimes get away with wearing a regular width depending on brand. In dress shoes/heels I wear a size 8.5 wide width. After many years of use in mud and manure and snow and sand, with only minor fixes here and there and numerous replacement laces, I finally had to retire my previous pair of terrain H20s. Those were a size 8.5 regular width and fit quite well from day one. There was a little squeeze at first but they were still comfortable enough to wear all day. These boots… 8.5 wide width… well I will have to disagree. Right out of the box they looked narrow, narrower than my old, regular width pair. They also looked and were, when compared with my old ones, longer, more like a size 9. I had to double check the sizing labeled on the boots, each one stated clearly 8.5 wide.Putting them on, they were VERY tight and too long. They fit like I would expect a size 9 regular width in dress shoes to fit. Even while wearing one pair of thin cotton socks. (When wearing boots for hiking, ground work, or chores, I normally wear two pair, thin cotton under wool.) I pressed on, acknowleding they are leather and will give a bit and just need a breaking in period. Although, I must say, that is something I don’t remember having to do with any of my other Ariat boots. They have always been, true to size and reliably comfortable from day one.The test drive: Out the door and into the heavy wet snow with my dog I went. After about 2 min my feet felt like they were each in a slowly tightening vice while my heel was rubbing up and down like I was wearing a pair of clogs. With apologies to my huskamute, who was gleefully frolicking in the heavy wet snow and sleet being deposited by a winter storm, I had to cut our morning excursion short. Other than a rarely worn pair of 4 inch heels, I have never been so eager and relieved to take off a pair of shoes. The construction of the boot seems sound and the footbed stable, although there is not as much support in the arch and instep as my old ones. I can report, with certainty, that the traction on icy snow was good and my feet stayed dry. Granted I was walking in 3-4 inches of heavy wet snow and not puddles of standing water, so the boots are at *least* water resistant. As to if they are actually waterproof…my hopes are not high seeing as how the sizing is so off. Due to immediate need, I will keep these and hope they will break in sooner rather than later.

a lot of space in toe area that did not seem to balance with the arch/heal area. that is more of the height not width. I have an issue with bunions also. so am experimenting . love the looki still working on them.ps: I did not receive a return slip or sticker.wendy
