Super Computer!!!
This computer rocks!!! Setup was a breeze, smooth and quick. Boot up time is absolutely amazing, lightning fast. I upgraded the RAM to 32gb but ran a while with the original 8gb. This computer still ran quick and smooth with that original RAM. This ASUS runs smooth and quiet, no problems whatsoever. Purchased just before the holiday and got a great price, no brainer. Amazon delivered it super fast and in great shape. What I really like is this computer has none of that bloat bs loaded on it like my old Dell had. If you have an old computer that needs an upgrade do not hesitate to get this one, I did.

Randomly powers itself off
I thought my earlier purchase of an HP PC was a good decision, but System Image Restore failed repeatedly within hours…so I bought this ASUS to replace it. I also thought ASUS was a very good brand, but the machine powered itself off on four different days within the 30 day return period.Meanwhile my 7 year old custom built PC just keeps on chugging along.

Average pre-built.
First of all it does NOT have Intel UHD 770 graphics. At least mine didn’t. It’s 730 graphics. I did several upgrades on it increasing the RAM to 32, the main NVME SSD to 2TB and added a 2nd 2TB NVME SSD. I have a mechanical 4TB hard drive with a lot of digital media (movies and TV shows). It was very difficult to install as the front has to be removed and they didn’t make this one to come off easily. But I got it done. There’s supposed to be 4 SATA connections but they face the wrong way and are EXTREMELY hard to plug anything into as you cannot see them. Why would they put them on the board this way? My experience with SATA is they’re all facing up. It does have pretty good air flow with a rear fan and power supply fan. It is fairly compact but that just added to the difficulty of doing ANYTHING inside. There are only 4 USB connections on the back. Not enough for me to plug in both mouse and keyboard, printer, webcam, UPS monitor, and my external Blu-Ray reader/writer. I kinda hate the built in DVD/RW slimline one that sits sideways. You push the button to open it and it doesn’t pop out (it’s like it’s stuck closed). You can open it using a flat head screwdriver by prying it out after pushing the button. I know most consider these unnecessary but I use them to burn DVD’s. Initially I had an issue waking the computer in the morning but their Acer software recommended a BIOS upgrade and it hasn’t happened since. I have had a consistent problem with the computer locking up. As your browsing a site all of a sudden the mouse doesn’t move and none of the keys respond. You have to turn off and on. I’ve run repair commands, made sure drivers and software is up to date. It has been happening less and less but it still happens. Not happy about that. I’m not into benchmarking. That’s mainly for gamers and I’m really not one. It’s just something people do to satisfy their ego anyway. Everything is limited by your internet connection, speed of your drives, etc. All I can tell you is it’s 100% faster than my 11 year old Dell XPS 8500 that I replaced (and it was still working with an on-board mSATA of 1TB, 32GB of DDR3 and it ran Windows 11 pretty well despite not meeting any of the system requirements by Microsoft. Happy so far. I’ll update when/if I’m not. Again, it you’re looking for something to surf the web, do business tasks, basic graphics and video editing, watch online video and listen to music this is a pretty good machine. You’ll pay 3 times as much for a machine that will play most of today’s graphics intensive games. Oh, this won’t be a news flash but the included mouse and keyboard are garbage. I don’t think most will expect otherwise. Okay, the mouse wasn’t terrible but I really hated the keyboard. If it would stop the locking up crap I’d update the rating to 5 stars. I have disabled the slimline DVD and am using my old DVD burner as a USB device. I’ve considered replacing the case so I can have it inside and so I can get to the hard drive easier and the SATA ports. But I probably won’t. I tried contacting ASUS support twice about the locking up issue. They didn’t respond either time. So don’t buy if you need support because there isn’t any.
