He is the new, grumpy goalie I had a crush on in highschool…and now I am his live-in assistant.

After my ex crushed my goals within the music business, I’m carried out with getting my coronary heart damaged. Working as an assistant for an NHL participant was purported to be a breeze, however nothing about Jamie Streicher is straightforward. He’s an intimidatingly sizzling, grouchy jerk who cannot stand me. The man has an enormous ego. Maintaining issues skilled will probably be no downside, even when he calls for I transfer in with him.

Beneath his surliness, although, Jamie’s surprisingly candy and protecting.

When Jamie learns how unhealthy my ex was in mattress, his aggressive nature flares, and he encourages and spoils me in each method. The inventive spark I used to really feel about songwriting? It’s again, and I’m writing music once more. Between carrying his jersey at video games, rowdy events with the group, and being courageous on stage once more, I’m falling for him.

He might break my coronary heart, nevertheless it could be value it.

Behind the Internet is a grumpy-sunshine professional hockey romance with numerous spice and an HEA. It’s the primary e-book within the Vancouver Storm collection, and might be listened to as a stand-alone.

Funny & spicy grumpy x sunshine hockey romance
5⭐️ 3🌶️ This is book 1 in the Vancouver Storm hockey series, and my first book by Stephanie Archer. She did not miss with this book! It is perfection, and I think her MMCs are going to rival my list of top book boyfriends. The banter, the spice, the protective MMC, a strong independent FMC. I ate it up! His nickname for her? Swoon 🫶🏻 His Christmas presents for her? ❤️ He’s bossy and demanding? 🥵Jamie is 26 and the pro hockey goalie that moves back to Vancouver, his hometown, to play hockey and be close to his mom. Pippa is 24 and hired by the team to be his assistant. She arrives to his apartment on her first day and they realize they went to high school together but don’t admit it to each other (both had crushes that neither knew about). At first he freaks out and fires her because he knows he will be distracted by having her around but Pippa returns the next day demanding her job back. With all of the time they eventually spend together, you really see how Jamie shines – he is THE MOST CARING, LOVING, PROTECTIVE, UNSELFISH man – opposite of how others see him because he’s focused on hockey and his mom – that’s it. Their character development and their relationship development is strong, genuine, and authentic.‘Jamie isn’t just the hot hockey player I had a crush on in high school. He’s so much more. Under his surly, chiseled exterior, he’s kind and caring and protective. He cares more about the people in his life than about himself.’‘Mine. Pippa is mine. I’m never giving her up.’Read this if you like:*Hockey romance*Grumpy X Sunshine ☀️*Obsessed/possessive MMC 🫠*’my jersey’ moment 🥵*Forced proximity*No 3rd act breakup*Banter*Found family*Anxiety/depression/mental health rep

    Cute story!
This was a solid 4 stars for me; I enjoy Stephanie Archer’s style and I’m definitely pre-ordering the next book. What I liked:-Stephanie Archer’s books are generally easy, breezy, fun books to read. If you, like me, enjoy turning your brain off for a while and read a book to decompress, this is the author for you. I love the Queen’s Cove series and I was looking forward to this, too.-Pippa and Jamie both likable characters. Actually, all the characters are pretty easy to like and are well developed.-DAISY!!-Jamie’s nickname for Pippa is adorable. All the flashbacks to their high school days are so freaking cute!-The steam was good. I feel like steamy scenes, especially featuring dirty talk, are hard to get right and Stephanie Archer consistently nails it. It doesn’t feel unrealistic or have so-bad-it’s-hilarious dirty talk. What I didn’t like:-Low/no stakes: while I enjoy her style overall, I felt like this book had a problem in that so many things that would have made me more invested in the characters happened off-page. We are told what happens instead of shown. Like, Jamie defends Pippa’s ambitions in front of her parents, but we don’t actually see this happen. Maybe it’s just me, but I get attached to characters by going through their experiences with them; mentioning something central to the characters/their relationship in passing makes the experience….more bland than breezy.-Hotness: yes. We get it. You are both stunningly attractive people. It almost felt like that’s all they were because it was mentioned so many times. He kept referring to her as his “pretty assistant” well after their relationship was established; which I thought was strange. See above about mentioning important event but not being “shown”. We were shown that they are hot ad nauseam. Maybe it’s just me. I didn’t feel like any of her other books had this issue.-I actually agree with Pippa’s parents (but I’m also the type of person who desperately wanted Ferris Bueller to be caught, that jerk): it’s easy to pursue your dreams when you have a hot, rich partner to ensure you don’t starve. The fact that Pippa didn’t even really address it when she should know exactly how the music industry can be makes her seem a little vapid, like she’s a privileged girl who has never really had to struggle for anything in her life. Not my favorite Stephanie Archer book, but it’s still a Stephanie Archer book and I happily devoured it whole. I will also happily pre-order the next one.I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

    Just ok. Liked the ending
Sooo.. I read this book after the Fake Out about Rory and Hazel so I had some really high expectations for this book.. it fell well short. I didn’t care for Jamie at all. He spends almost 70% of the book talking himself out of having feelings for Pippa. I hate reading about how much a guy can’t be with a girl because she’ll catch feelings and he’ll end up breaking her heart when he dumps her because all he wants is something casual…(*eye roll*).. ugh! It made it seem like he wanted to just use her for sex without having to actually like her and involve any feelings.. He spent the whole book trying to downplay his feelings and denying them to both himself and her, while also constantly obsessed about having sex with her. It was exhausting reading from his point of view. I want my MMC to be obsessed about the female lead and I want him to do everything in his power to get the girl and want to keep her (which is why I liked the second book in this series a whole lot better). The only good points to the book was the story outside the romance and there was no cheating and no third act break up (probably because they don’t even get together until the end). If I could go back, I’d just skip this one and go straight to the second… no need to read this one to understand the characters.

First book of Stephanie Archer that I read and I loved it, I couldn’t put it down.Jamie is a grumpy NHL player and Pippa is his live-in assistant, and you guess it they quickly fall in love.I love Jamie protectiveness toward Pippa and how he believes in her unlike her ex who crushed her confidence but thank to Jamie she believes in herself again. They mutual crush for each other in high school is really fun, they were so sure the other didn’t know the other existence so they both act like they don’t remember. The scene were they discover the truth is priceless.Overall their couple is amazing and I’m not afraid to say that’s my relationship goal.
