Outstanding resource
The authors have put together a framework for any speaker who wants to serve associations and their members. I’ve read MANY books on the business of speaking and this is by far the most strategic and clear. I can’t wait to get to work implementing these ideas.

Great resource for understanding Association priorities and decision making!
Love this book! As someone who is thinking about the best ways to reach my target audience and homing in on what is most valuable to them as they plan their conferences, Booked! provided me with a clear overview of Association priorities and decision making considerations. Some of the reasons I loved this book include – it is well organized and doesn’t include a bunch of fluff, the information is succinct and actionable, and the insights shared help everyone succeed in that Associations want people who understand their needs and general processes; speakers want to know how to efficiently meet those needs and processes. Win-win! Thanks for the great resource!

FABULOUS resource for new & experienced speakers
I’ve been speaking for over over a decade and I still gained tremendous value from this book. Since I’ve been doing this a while, the most valuable section was on finding associations that would be a fit for my speaking topics. I am good at pitching but finding them has been challenging for me. Beyond pitching, the book contains NUMEROUS ideas on how to connect with association decision makers (several of which I’ve implemented with SUCCESS!). HIGHLY recommend this book as it’s long on concrete action items and short on theory!

A must read for anyone speaking for associations
Quite often books like these are full of generic knowledge that can apply to many different industries.NOT this one!Ed Rigsbee takes you by the hand (figuratively not in a creepy way 😁) and walks you through every step you need to take to get yours on a stage for associations. Not only that, but you get email and phone scripts on what to say and details on WHO to market to.If you’re not working for associations after reading this you either; didn’t do the work or your topic is too weird (underwater basket weaving for Lithuanians is NOT a hot topic…not that there’s anything wrong with it)Get. This. Book.

Great resource for professional speakers
This is a great read if you are looking to speak to associations. And here’s why it’s so smart as pointed out in the book. You speak at an association and get paid to speak in front of companies who can book you to speak, and when you speak and use a tool like Talkadot as mentioned in the book you can capture your leads and use the audience feedback you collect to help book more association speaking opportunities. It’s really a great toolkit for getting momentum in booking more speaking engagements

Refreshing Perspective For Speakers on the Hamster Wheel
One of the best pars of this resource is the understanding of the speaking industry and how to use this top get more work. I really liked the ‘Six-step article writing method’ chapter. It provided a blueprint on how to get on the radar of decision makers while providing a positive process to be introduced to an association. The association market is full of opportunities that can be overlooked but they are a gateway into platforms where we can share our message. I bought the digital version so that I can take this when I am on the road and have time to write another article that will benefit an association and my business. Add it to your library in the ‘ getting business tools” section.
