Prospects say

Prospects discover these socks efficient as liners, significantly for mountaineering, with a smooth silky really feel that works properly beneath wool socks. They forestall blisters and scorching spots, maintain toes dry all day, and wick away moisture successfully. The match and sturdiness obtain combined suggestions – whereas some say the dimensions matches their shoe measurement, others discover them too roomy, and whereas some report they maintain up properly, others point out they rip after the primary day of damage.

    sock liners
I used these while recently walking the Camino in Portugual/Spain. They were perfect & I loved that they could easily be rinsed out & they dried by the next day. They are soft & helped prevent me getting blisters.

    They’re great!
I have long, narrow feet with fallen metatarsal arches and toes that get very painful. The balls of my feet hurt, have blistered, gotten so torn up and even quarter holes in my orthotics to relieve pressure hasn’t helped enough. I’ve done 3 long outings, jog hike with good elevation change and 1 shorter in the last 5 days. The balls of my feet are happy! I wear these liners under my normal hiking socks. I wear a woman’s 10 or 11 in shoes and boots but run and hike in a men’s 11. The women’s medium fits perfect.

Most Import Item for Preventing Blisters.
The socks were of good quality and even had a one year guarantee to be free of manufacturing defects. These socks are made in the US according to the label on my socks which generally means better quality. The sock fabric is slick enough to prevent blisters but not obviously so. These socks also wick away moisture very well and keep your feet warm. I actually like these socks better than the ones I bought from a reputable camping supply store since the socks maintain their elasticity after a day of wear and seem to be made of thicker fabric. All in all, these socks are a critical piece of kit since your mobility is controlled by these socks preventing blisters and you must do everything you can to prevent injury to your feet, i.e. use foot powder and change your socks if you detect sweat which lead to blisters. I have found that it is better to prevent blisters with polypropylene liner socks in addition to a normal pair of wool socks worn outside the liner socks since most of the “hot spot” and blister remedies don’t seem to work very well. Therefore, if you don’t want to become stranded in the woods with severe blisters and/or trench foot then make sure you include a couple of pairs this item with your hiking gear.

Comfortable and perform their task well
I wear these in conjunction with my Icebreaker Mens Hike Light Crew socks. On longer (~20mi) cross-country summer hikes in boots and with about a 30lb pack, I’ll swap into a fresh pair (of both) about three times, where in the winter I’ll swap twice. Very nice feel to them, soft and comfortable, pretty much no abrasion or blisters so long as you change them out when they become too damp. So well fitted that when I swap them I can see the bones/tendons/veins of my foot imprinted in the material, so you know they aren’t moving around next to the skin.Wouldn’t recommend wearing them by themselves, they are liners only. Preferable to one heavy pair of socks, to be certain.

    great sock liners!
These are GREAT sock liners!I’m new to hiking gear and stumbled upon liner socks on amazon.com accidentally while looking for wool hiking socks. Never heard about liners but read the comments and decided to give them a try. I took them on AZ/UT vacation. The socks are incredible! They keep your feet dry and prevent rubbing – no blisters despite new hiking boots and loooong hikes. My girls loved their liners too – including the defiant teenager. My only regret is that I couldn’t find such liners for the little feet of my 6 year old.I washed them by hand in the hotel sink every evening and they dried overnight. One night I forgot to wash them and went on without the liners. I really felt the difference! As soft as my merino wool hiking socks are, the liners are nicer and silky against the skin, and since they are so snug there is zero rubbing. The liners are very thin and don’t add much thickness. They also look very good – shiny like silk. Nobody sees that but it’s nice to know. 🙂 However, I find them staining easily. Yellow and red canyon dust made it’s way through boots and wool socks to the white liners and they were never white again (heel and ball parts only).I’m looking forward to using them in my everyday life. Will buy more but most likely in black this time.Sizing.The small was great for my 6.5 wide feet. I bought same size for my daughter – she is size 5, she wasn’t complaining. The medium fit my other daughter’s 7.5 feet very well.

Good liner, plan to buy more
I originally bought these as a gift for a friend who works outside a lot, but my son was going hunting and his feet always get too cold so I gave them to him to put on. He’s a young teenager so it took coercing but he wore them. I was amazed that they went on his feet so easy – his feet are very wide and it’s always difficult getting socks and shoes for him. He wears an 11-1/2 4E shoe, sometimes 5E, and the Large 11-13 Liners went on easily, the heel was in the right place and not up the back of his ankle like some larger socks I buy him.He wore them the first morning and when I asked how they were all he’d say is “they’re fine”. But the next morning I watched him put them on again sooooooo they had to be worth it 🙂 After the second day hunting he said they definitely kept his feet warm. I know that’s not a ton of feedback but for my teen that’s the equivalent of jumping up and down with pom poms.So – they keep feet warm, they’re true to size; and if you have wide or large feet, the Large is going to fit.The friend I had bought them for wears only a 9-1/2, I had bought Large because other insulated socks came in so small; but now I know I can just order a Medium for him – I’m going to do that now! He has trouble with circulation and his feet and toes are always cold even in the spring and fall; so I think the liners will be helpful to him even then.

    Quick drying and comfortable
These socks are comfortable to wear. I like the smooth texture of the material. These socks didn’t have seems that I could feel and that’s important to me. They do a good job keeping my feet warm, but are also quick drying. My only complaint is they take multiple washes to get the foot odor out.

Well made, incredibly comfortable, and a pleasure to wear. The best I’ve found. Now, can we talk about a colour other than white? My only (minor) complaint…
