I picked up this up to use as an external drive for me and my wife’s MacBooks; mainly for Time Machine backups and general file storage. Paired with a USB 3.0 enclosure, it’s been a solid upgrade from using older/slower external hard drives.Setting it up was super easy—formatted it to APFS using Disk Utility, and it was ready to go in minutes. Transfer speeds are solid for a SATA SSD, averaging high 400MB/s when moving large files. It’s not the fastest SSD out there, but for backups, media storage, and everyday file transfers, it’s more than enough and it’s getting the job done!

Cant go wrong with HP SATA SSDs. Ive used HP SATA SSDs, and even the ~120gb works 7 years later. I mention this because some other brands like Adata, I haven’t had good luck with. Those SATA drives have died out on MANY different computers I’ve built. Specifically SATA. But this 480gb SSD works great which speaks to the quality of the product, at least in my experience. Of course it was easy to install very typical computer building essentials.

I got the 256GB… for only $18 and it was delivered the next day. What’s not to be happy about? I used it on my wife’s Dell computer that no kidding… would take 6-7 full minutes to boot up. Her regular HDD was transferring data at a slow 2.3MBs . (she uses only about 50GB of space). I tried defragging and scanning for errors, and all looked good… but slow.. I purchased this, connected it with an external drive kit i have. Used Acronis to create a clone. Then swapped drives and it now takes only 40 seconds to boot and it’s screaming fast.I scanned the new drive for errors and speed, and it’s now transferring at 11MBs with no issues. I highly recommend this!NOTE that it’s a bare drive with screws. I mounted it with heat resistant tape inside my larger HDD cage, but you may want to consider purchasing the correct size cage (adapter) for this to be screwed in to your larger HDD cage. This drive is SO small and light. The way I did it works for me. 🙂

Value, Performance, Versatility
Great value for the price! Replace every HDD you have with a SSD, especially on clean installations. Easy to install, no mounting bracket at this price point, but who cares! Build quality is solid, performance is outstanding compared to traditional HDD’s, and the space savings make it a very hard deal to pass up.

Excellent upgrade.
Installed in HP laptop that took literally 30 minutes to boot up, and then was so slow you could not use it. Now takes 30 seconds to boot up and is nice and snappy. Well worth the price.

I bought this HP S750 SSD to replace my old laptop PC hard disk about three months ago. After initial setup , I havent used it for a long time. Today when I try to use this PC again and found it’s unable to boot up. After checking the BIOS setting, found the hard disk size became 1GB already.

I have ordered for HP 1TB SSD but received lesser cappacity HP 250GB SSD with fake labled as 1TB SSD on cover, invoice, and also on the product it is labled and printed as 1TB SSD. I didt expect this kind of cheating from HP or HP dealers. I am returning it now and ordered Samsung 870 QVO 1TB.
