Speeds were as advertised, durability yet to be known.
Fast drive, no hiccups, easy to install, will see how long does it lasts… 1Tb disk on an Asus AIO with less than 10% capacity used… it should outlast the computer if the quality is there… Will update the review if this drive fails to deliver on reliability. So far everything is great.

best upgrade ever!
I have a laptop (Dell Inspiron 11-6138) that was never really fast, but over the years, it has become painfully slow. I maxed the memory, which helped ever so slightly, but the real change was this drive. Going from the 5400 RPM drive to this SSD was amazing! Now don’t get me wrong, it is still not lightening fast, as the processor is not a speed demon, but it is actually a joy to use. My likes, it was so easy to use! I used AMOI Partition Assistant, as I was already familiar with it, but shipping the SSD with the case and USB connector made this so that I had every thing I needed to do the job. It even came with a license for Acronis, which is the cloning software that you can download from Kingston’s site. At about 1 1/2 hours into the cloning process I went to bed, so I am not really sure how long it took, but it was at 80% when I called it a night, so it was pretty fast. I woke up this AM and swapped the drives and it fired right up and works like a champ! Dislikes, I honestly can’t think of a single issue with this product.

Great device.
This product is great! It increased the speed of my computer tremendously. My computer only had one hard drive slot so I replaced it with the ssd entirely. this is the way I did it: first: down load the free cloning software: place the ssd in the usb interface box and connect it to a usb port on the computer you wish to update (usb 3.0 port is best.) run the program and eventually the computer will restart and will run the program. the task bar didn’t seem to move so I restarted the computer and redid it; again the task bar did move, but this time I waited for about 15 to 30 minutes and eventually it did move; it copied my entire hard drive in a little more than an hour. then I replaced the hard drive with the ssd; then when I started the computer back up, windows came up in seconds instead of minutes. the speed of my computer seemed to increase anywhere between 5 to 10x faster. If you want to increase the speed of an older computer this is the way to do it!

Easy to swap to the new disk and very good speed and reliability
Copying everything over to the new disk was easy too. It took less than 30 minutes to swap the disk. Boot time went from over a minute to 5 seconds. It works reliably.

A nice improvement over the built-in conventional hard drives.
Purchased three of these this year, one at a time. I can’t compare them to other SSD’s, but they are certainly faster than any of the conventional hard-drives I’ve used them to replace. First time through it was frustrating to find the right Clone-your-existing-drive software, WITHOUT having to pay for it or give the software vendor way too much information and access inside the home network, BUT, once I came up with the right combo it went smooth and the subsequent system drive upgrades were a breeze. (I ended up using the Macrium Reflect Free Disk Cloning tool, then deleted it once I’d cloned the internal drive.) Additionally, you will need an USB to SATA adapter (not included) over which to make the copy of your original HD.

Great drive, awful software
No issues with the drive itself. Older Lenovo PC feels like a new machine now. Couldn’t get the cloning software to work – it insisted that I set up an account, but then couldn’t connect to the internet, even when multiple web browsers had no issues. Ended up using Macrium Reflect as some other reviewers have noted. Don’t assume the people having software issues simply aren’t tech-savvy enough; the included software really does have issues for some setups.

I’m amazed by how it has improved the speed of my old computer. I would recommend this kit that contain everything to upgrade any kind of computer or laptop. The only think I could complaint about is the Acronis software. To activate the free license, the process is a bit cumbersome and there’s some online steps, then on computer, than email for a code, back to the software…Besides that I would definitely recommend.

We have had a Toshiba Satellite Laptop for some time, mainly for playing SIMS 4. We found that after upgrading to the latest version of WIndows 10 (2004) that performance suffered massively. Processor and RAM were fine so I decided to swap out the old hard drive for a shiney new SSD.Decided on the KC600 1TB as its fully supported on my laptop and also came with the full upgrade kit which was handy! That, alongside its capacity & price point were the compelling factors for purchasing. As i didn’t want to lose anything, I simply booted into Windows on my laptop and then attached the SSD via USB (using the cradle supplied with the kit). You do get a coupon with the kit to download and use Acronis software but I opted to use Macrium Reflect Free home edition. So, installed Macrium Reflect attached the SSD via USB and then just ran the software. Selected CLONE and then selected all my existing partitions to clone onto the SSD and hit GO. 30 minutes later the clone had completed without issue so it was time to shutdown the laptop and swap out the drives.I removed the old hard drive and replaced it with the SSD and then got ready for lift off! WOW – boot time went from over 2 minutes to a ridiculous 7 seconds to get the WIN10 login splash screen. Logging in and seeing the desktop instantly appear with no lag or jitter is just incredible. The big test was of course running SIMS 4 and I confess it has never run so fast or so smooth on this laptop! So in summary – cloning my existing hard drive means I lost no data and so could simply swap out the existing hard drive with the SSD and keep everything (operating system included) without issue. Boot, login and gaming performance improved beyond my expectations.Highly recommended – this basically saved me purchasing a new gaming laptop and the performance we now have is amazing for an i5 laptop with 8GB RAM!
