Great read that grabs your attention and won’t let go
First off, let me just say I’m not one that typically sits down and reads anything other than car build articles and car set up pieces. If i sit down to read I’m usually asleep in 5 mins. I couldn’t put this book down and i really don’t think you would need to be a car person to enjoy it. The author’s writing style is descriptive without being wordy, almost conversational like someone was sitting in the room telling a story. The way the story was told it seemed legit and drew me in so i felt connected with the characters. In fact, I was excited to read the second book because of it. Though I Fall was equally as good although I wasn’t prepared for the dark journey. Both excellent books and i was thinking they would make great movies too. Nice job!

Finally! A racing novel!
I am so glad I found this book! Paul has a way with words and a deep understanding of racing. This story will take you on the highest of highs and the lowest of lows with its amazing characters. I have been looking for a book series like this for the longest time and can’t wait to see where the series goes!

Fantastic racing story
I have been to many races and could picture the scenes on the track. Love the way it ended! Great story

Great novel about life and love. Love of family and love of racing.
As a former racer and a family man and now grandfather, this was an excellent depiction of how racing is a way of life and the life lessons it teaches you. I have no doubt that a reader who is a non-racing fan will enjoy this novel as well. The Bathurst 1000 is a legendary event in Australia and I learned much about the event. All readers will be moved by several of the events depicted, most of which are around the edges of the racing involving this family’s story. You will not be disappointed in the story depicted. My highest recommendation. I seldom do reviews and my award of five stars is something I rarely award.

Outstanding Read
If you’re a racer, like racing, or just love a good enjoyable read, grab this book and fall in love with this two book series and it’s characters. I am a racer myself. The race portion was so realistically presented that I youtubed this years race outlined in the book! (I don’t want to spoiler alert the event). Grab this series and enjoy the read.

rather obvious
The story is of the tear-jerker type and as such is pretty predictable. The descriptions of motor racing, on the other hand, are quite realistic and enjoyable; while still be predictable.

Loved it
I am a big racing fan and virtual racer on iRacing; This is the first racing related novel in which it is easy to tell the writer knows his business. Nothing irritates me more than writers taking on the subject of racing while not doing any homework on the sport. This guy know his stuff.Aside from that, he has a genuine easy going but gripping style of telling the story, which isn’t just about racing but also about love, hardship, relationships and dealing with life’s ups and downs in general. The final race in the story was decribed fantastically well. It felt like I was running with the characters in the race.I’m already looking forward to the next book!
