Great value, excellent MacBook Pro MagSafe 2 power adapter
The cord on my last MacBook Pro became frayed from frequent use (light, at home). It was nearly identical to this power adapter (same markings, etc.) though a different brand on Amazon. Unfortunately I needed to replace it, and chose this adapter.It’s also nice to have a spare AC adapter, in your bag, your car, or in that other place when using your computer for extended periods of time.This adapter has been working very well, and while it appears in many ways to be the same as my last one, it is holding up very well. Like most power bricks like this, it does get really warm (some might say hot) while charging for a while (like if the computer battery needs a full charge). That’s not uncommon amongst these power bricks.The MagSafe 2 magnet is appropriately strong (stays connected when moving the computer around) and so far it’s performing very well. It charges my 15″ MacBook Pro (according to Apple, this is for MacBook Pro 15″ model years 2012 through 2015) and this is the 85W power adapter.This adapter is a great value and at less than 1/4 the price of the original adapter, you’re getting a quality AC adapter for a lot less money.Overall I highly recommend.

I was so excited when I saw that MacBook Pro chargers were becoming available at prices that were affordable (FINALLY!). I had been looking for a spare charger to keep in my backpack just in case, and jumped when I found this product. This charger is a great value and it checks all the boxes. It even has little things that flip-out so you can wrap your cable around them and keep it nice and neat! It really feels like a genuine apple product. One thing that I have to call out is that not all Macbook Pro magsafe chargers are the same. They look the same on the outside, but there is a slight difference in the how the pins are organized. I did not realize this just figured that because they looked the same, this would work with my 2021 Macbook Pro. Close but no cigar – they are almost identical, but the older models are just slightly different, so they magnet did not connect. This was 100% my fault and hopefully my review can prevent others from making the same mistake as me. If this model is compatible with your laptop – totally get one and keep it around because it’s just peace of mind knowing you have a spare charger (that you didn’t have to shell out $100 for!)

Works as Well as Apple-Branded Cord
This charger charges my 2015 Macbook Pro just as well as the original cord from Apple did. Fortunately the Macbooks last a heck of a lot longer than the cords do, so I’ve gone through more than a few over the years. At this price–probably about a quarter of what I’ve paid for Apple-branded cords in the past–this is a no brainer.

Works perfectly on a 15″ MBP from 2015
I have a 15″ MacBook Pro from 2015, with an i7 processor and discrete graphics. The only charger I had for it was a 60w, and I noticed it was getting really hot during use, so I tried ordering this aftermarket replacement, which is rated for more power (85W). It has the classic Chiclet-shaped Magsafe 2 tip and so far it works great. I would like it if the tip were more strongly magnetic, since it tends to knock loose more easily than my genuine Apple branded power supplies, but it works just fine, doesn’t overheat and is offered at a good price. It should also work for a 13″ model from the same 2012-2017 era.

Value 2T-Tip MacBook Pro Adapter
Arriving in generic white box, this adapter has the feel of OEM but the magnet is not as strong. This could be an annoyance but doesn’t seem to prevent normal charging as long as the connection isn’t disturbed. Also, the folding power prongs are somewhat more prone to folding back in. They’re probably bashful. Still, as a lower cost alternative to the costly genuine Apple adapter, I’m giving this a PRONGS UP!
