Defective but great response from Franklin Sports
I received this ball and had it for a month before I gave it to my granddaughter. It’s basically a rubber ball surrounded by a nerf netting outside. As the ball inflates the netting around it gets tighter. I tried inflating it but was only able to get to about half size. A week later when I saw my granddaughter the ball was completely flat. I tried inflating it at my house with a better pump and heard a small leak from the ball.I think the ball was defective from the get go since I was never able to pump it up.Just fyi. After the above review I sent an email to the producer of the ball, Franklin Sports and received a quick response and friendly email. They are replacing the ball. I am waiting for the new ball but I updated my review from 1 to 3 stars. If the new ball is good I’ll update to 4-5 stars.Received the ball promptly and it blew up quickly. Changed the stars to 5

Don’t Waste Your Money
I got this for my kids to play with, but it was a huge disappointment. Theres 2 layers to this ball. The outside layer is the blue/black cloth layer and then the inner rubber layer. I inflated the ball with a hand pump as far as it would go, but it never matched with the cloth layer leaving excess cloth that I can grab on to. I messaged amazon and got a 2nd one to try and this one was even worse. Theres so much excess cloth on the 2nd one I can put it in a pony tail. The balls are not 20” and do not roll with the excess cloth. Not worth your money.

Great for kids
I bought one for my grand kids and one for my dog, it is made for kids not dogs, I knew that when I bought them. Pumping it up took longer than it lasted with my dog but the other one is still going strong with the kids. So, if you are buying it for kids it’s great, they will have a lot of fun with it. Dogs, not so much

Make sure you have a pump
Sooo – my bad. I did not read through the description. I just saw the word “Nerf” and assumed it would be like the nerf balls of my childhood, which were soft, solid foam, only this one would be giant and fun to have around when kiddos visit. I even envisioned hubby and me playing senior dodge ball to get us through the winter. Big surprise finding out it needs to be pumped up with a pump type that I do not have. Based on other reviews it sounds like the ball is awesome once inflated, but I’m dinging it down to three because there are no instructions on how to pump it, what pump type to use, or anything. Just a tiny note on the back of the box that says “pump sold separately.”

Microplastic dust ball
Stay away if you are afraid of microplastics. I’ve never been overly cautious before, but after playing with this ball in the house for a few seconds, we noticed a huge cloud of microscopic glittery blue dust flying everywhere the sun was shining in. My kid who blew up the ball was coughing and complained of a weird taste in his mouth. Probably would have received a 0/5 rating regardless as it is just a balloon inside an oversized mesh jacket.Edit: After I threw the ball outside to get it out of the house, my 10 year old gave it one kick and it popped
