Poorly built.
This remote came in a bubble bag. Inside was no box for the remote. Even my toothpaste comes in a box. And there were no instructions. For all I know, it was second-hand. The circuit board inside it rattle terribly. It uses a coin-shaped battery, but none came with it. And that type of battery isn’t cheap. The cover for the battery has a slot for a coin to open it, but it wasn’t very deep; it was difficult to turn to open or close. The remote worked a couple of times then refused to work again. All I can say is buyer beware… this remote is cheap junk.

Perfect replacement
Works great without any configuration/setup. Buttons are raised/clicky, way more than the OEM remote. I view that as a plus but I could see that the audible “click” might not appeal to everyone. I bought a spare to stash as well in case this one gets lost.

Defective
Since I received the remote, I’ve replaced the battery multiple times, to try and get it to work. I do so, with extreme difficulty because the divot slot to use to open the battery spot, is too shallow to be of any use and trying to open it gouges the plastic. I’ve had to use a push pin to push the circle up/down to get it to open. After a new battery, the remote works for all of 2-4 times of use, and then nothing.So, I or my spouse has to get up to adjust the volume when needed, which can get kinda annoying when different streaming apps and shows/movies are at all different volumes. I don’t mind so much but she is disabled and can’t always do this easily

Works but hard to operate
Works, but difficult to operate. Buttons seem more recessed than original. Hard to press. Otherwise works as advertisedUpdate June 15, 2024 – received a note from the vendor couple of weeks ago. Said they would make things right. Asked for problem details. Replied that buttons were set in too far, making operation very difficult, especially the mute button. Several days later the vendors reply – basically just press harder. What a wonderful response. If that is the best they can offer in the way of customer help, suggest anyone interested in this unit go with the unit offered by Samsung at $30. Pricier than this units cost (I paid $10, see they recently raised the price to $13) but it will likely add years to your muting finger.

Replacement for the remote that broke. Only downside, battery not included with purchase. It works with current soundbar..
