Avoid the expensive fragile toy store watches and get your kid a Timex!
I am truly impressed by the construction and value you get in this great looking Timex Kid’s Watch. I was shopping for my 6 year old son, knowing he desperately wanted a watch so he could be a big man just like his father. He is always trying to find out the time, so it was a perfect present for him.A brief perusal in the local toy store was disappointing. Many Disney and other branded watches that cost over $20 each and look uncomfortable and poorly built. Browse some Amazon reviews and you’ll see that many watches featuring characters break in the first few weeks, leading to sad children and frustrated parents. Plus, the wristbands never look comfortable for a small wrist. If it doesn’t get worn, I can guarantee it will be lost or broken soon. The instant I handled this Timex Kid’s Watch, I knew it was different. The wristband is a soft but strong fabric strap with an easy velcro-closure. My son needed no help putting the watch on himself. The front of it looks sharp and mature, and the numbers on it are clear and distinct. The watch was easy to set and my son wore it all day on his wrist, shouting out the time every 20 minutes. Some kids watches try to be too cute, covering up some numbers with a cartoon, or making the hands hard to read. The hands are easy to see (including the second hand) and the hour numerals are large and well printed. One complaint is that the printed minutes, while a nice feature, are just a bit too small to see. That could be a good thing, as it prevents dependence on a crutch for telling time.Topping it off, it’s a Timex watch so it has Indiglo! Just push in the stem and the watch face glows green. It is also water resistant to 30M… I likely wouldn’t take it swimming, but I’m not afraid of my kid getting it a little wet and ruining it. And if he breaks it or loses it, Timex guarantees to replace for a $10 charge.Especially for this price, you really can’t go wrong on this Timex watch for a kid’s first watch.

Great watch for my son
This is an awesome watch–really hard to beat for the price. My son is just turning 7 and has been wearing and reading a watch for over a year now.He is, however, hard on his watch (even though he is extremely anal about where it is and how it is treated). We immediately had to replace the band (my son and I both hate velcro) with an 8 dollar metal Timex replacement that works great. The first watch stopped working suddenly about seven months after we got it–the light started to flicker when he turned it on, and eventually it just stopped telling time entirely–no slow-down, it just stopped. When his replacement arrived (he loved it, so it had to be the same watch), the old watch started working again suddenly when I was changing the bands, because a grain of sand had gotten stuck in the winding arm, preventing it from being pushed all the way in. It was not dead, just not engaged. So now he has two. I probably should have checked that, though I fiddled with it a lot before ordering another one. I was debating having the battery replaced, but the flickering indiglo made me think it had malfunctioned instead of just running out of battery power.I’m surprised that the watch was disabled by a grain of sand. I wear analog Timex watches also, and usually shatter the face on rocks before the sand under them can gum up my watch. On the other hand, his old watch works again, so he has a spare, and really it was kind of a freak thing, I think.Overall, this watch is a fantastic value. It’s actually metal, and it’s kid tough. I just hate the watch band it comes with.

cute
this watch comes in a variety of kid friendly, cute designs. it fits my 6-year-old’s wrist very well. It slips on like a bracelet, which is convenient. The analog watch face is a great learning tool, and the hands with the “hour” and “minute” labeled are handy for kids starting to tell time.

Super cute watch for kids!
Got this for my nephew who loves dinosaurs. The watch face is easy to read and aides children in learning to read time via dial and hands. The numbers are actual numbers not roman. The hour hand has a Dino head on it and both minute and hour hand have the words written on them for identification. The colors are very cute. The size of the watch is just right for a 6 year old. The band is stretchy enough for comfort but wont go loose. It can stand some wear and tear ( needed for kids). It is easy to put on and take off. The kids can do it themselves. There is no tongue (stick that goes through the whole) like on adult watches. Over all, a loved gift!

My son is 6 and wanted to learn to tell time. He got this for Christmas and every few minutes he would yell out the time. Having the minutes along the side is super helper for him. It’s a blessing and a curse because it has been so easy for him to learn – so be ready!

My kid love it. He likes soccer and I’m glad it’s not digital. Nice design.

Comfortable very adjustable band fits 5 year old wrist perfectly. She can’t tell time yet but really wanted to wear a watch like everyone else. She loves the sparkles and the unicorn second-hand that rotates around and besides a few scratches and dirt on the band she wears it daily and loves it. We have not gone swimming with it yet but I believe it says water resistant/proof We spent more money on Timex for this feature so she could wear it in a pool or shower without wrecking it. She prefers to take it off so she doesn’t have the wet stretchy fabric band on her wrist (I don’t think she loves this feeling). That is the only unexpected downside but this band goes for small for her tiny wrist (adjusts like a bra strap).
